Good evening from the new guy. I am the new owner of a 2016 Fiesta in Molten Orange Metallic that appears to have been modded for Autocross or possibly track duty. Lowered, on what appear to be Koni struts/shocks, with unknown springs, I haven't pulled the wheels yet to look closely at them. The wheels are Konig 8 spoke of some kind (I think they are Lockouts) in 16 inch diameter, sporting some 215/45R16 Falken RT660s.
I have some history with hot hatches but mostly a Jeep guy. Previous hatches include a ZX5, Escort, and MazdaSpeed3. I was honestly shopping for a Focus ST or another Mazdaspeed3 and happened across a dealer that had a Focus ST and Fiesta ST. I found that my kids car seats fit in the Fiesta just as well as they did in the Focus. And after one test drive in the Fiesta, I was hooked. It reminds me so much of my old NA Miata as far as how it feels on the road. It's like a Miata with Torque steer and a big booty LOL.
I look forward to enjoying this car, so far every time I step on the pedal it makes me smile. I'm still sorting what the previous owner did as far as parts. I know it has AWR engine mounts, and they must have ordered the stiffest inserts they could because I can feel so much engine NVH though the wheel and floor that it makes my hands and feet tingle after an hour of driving. I already ordered the 62 Durometer bushings in the hopes of smoothing things out without going back to stock style mounts. The unknown springs ride well enough, but may be too low for my driving environment. I may be going to a more street oriented spring. I'll have to try to determine what's in there first before firing the parts cannon.
My plans include semi-daily driver, with some occasional Autocross and maybe a track day or 2 thrown in there per year. My other vehicles include a 95 Jeep XJ (my main daily), 95 Jeep YJ and a 47ish CJ2A. Previous Jeeps include 3 other Jeep XJs and a 76 CJ5.
On the above notes if anyone is in the Dallas or East Texas area and whats to exchange their stock parts for aftermarket parts let me know. So far I know I have a Woosh motorsports intake I would like to go back to stock with, but it sounds like the PO installed an aftermarket BOV as well so not sure how much is involved with swapping back.
Anyway maybe I'll see some of ya'll around. I've been a big forum user since the days of Bulliten Boards and have presence in tons of Jeep forums. I went ahead and upgraded membership because I know running these forums can be a bit of a pain and isn't free.
