The OEM exhaust is VERY quiet. This exhaust has been modified by removing the front muffler (resonator) and welding in a straight piece of pipe with a side exit cutout/flange. You could add an electric valve to open from the dash for open pipe operation OR, you could simply block off the flange and have an exhaust that is somewhere between stock and most aftermarket systems, noise-wise OR, if you want an inexpensive stock exhaust, you could buy the optional resonator I have and replace the straight pipe. $150 for the modified system, $50 for the front resonator, plus shipping. All parts in very good condition.

Have you run this thing with the open flange? How awful/awesome does that sound? My experience with open 4 bangers says pretty loud and bland but this engine is certainly lively.

No, I have not, but even so, it would probably be too loud for me with it open. If you ran it with an electric cutout of course you’d have the choice. Having now experienced how quiet the stock exhaust is, I would think running it with the flange blocked, either with a valve or a plate, and the OEM rear muffler in place might be a very nice compromise between stock and what I find to be the very noisy after market 3” systems. I just sold my GT350 which I thought was ideal with its quiet mode (still with a nice burble) and then the manual open valve switch on the dash to hold it open or simply put your foot to the floor and have it open at WOT or in the higher rev range.
