Hi everyone,
I picked up a 2022 Fiesta MK8 3 months ago however a few potential issues which I've discovered since owning which I'm keen to get your opinions on. The vehicle comes standard with the LSD/performance pack in my country. I purchased the car with 4500 KM's and has now done 9500KM's.
I took the car into the dealership today for its first service and advised them of all 3 issues. They came back and said they couldn't replicate the gear issue so essentially dismissed it. They said the liquid leak from the exhaust is likely from the aircon drain plug which is normal. They also said there's no issues with the exhaust and everything is operating normally.
My concern is that I can't find anything online about anyone else experiencing the gear issue, so it sounds like this is isolated and not a common problem. I feel like it's not going to be long until this happens and causes an accident. I found lots of results about the liquid leaking from near the exhaust, but no results of the liquid dripping onto the exhaust itself and making the loud hissing noise. Lastly, I test drove another Fiesta (although it was a mk8.5) and the exhaust felt completely different. It was a lot more audible in sports mode and popped and banged for almost every gear change, including downshifts (was told the vehicle is stock with no tune).
Hoping some of you hear might have a bit more insight into any of these issues so I can report back to the dealership and get them remedied if possible.
Thanks

- Car sometimes goes into reverse instead of 1st gear. Didn't happen at all for the first 2 months of ownership however within the last month, it has occurred around 7-8 times. Around 5 of these occurrences I've had another vehicle behind me and have almost caused an accident.
- When turning the car off, the car leaks liquid (presumably water) from above the exhaust, underneath the vehicle. The liquid lands on the exhaust pipe and evaporates, making a loud sizzle, similiar to putting a drop of water into a fry pan. This occurs in the center of the vehicle, maybe slightly towards the driver side.
- The exhaust exhibits verry little pops and bangs in sports mode. Once warmed up, there is usually a pop changing from 1st to 2nd gear around the 4000rpm range and occasionally a small pop when changing from 2nd to 3rd. No other pops outside of this, including downshifts.
