How is everyone planning to drain? Did you get the drain kit? From what I've seen the bottom of the can is not exactly accessible to just unscrew and remove and empty. Getting mine Monday so just looking for ideas or feedback other than that it was an easy install :)

I did order the drain kit, and having installed the catch can now I can see that it was the right decision to order it. The can is difficult to access for draining in the location that it is mounted in, so much so that I wouldn't recommend trying to do it that way. With the drain kit I routed the hose under the coolant hose, over the frame rail to the bumper side (otherwise it will interfere with the belts), through the wiring harness (hose had a straighter run this way) and down to the petcock which I placed right behind the passenger fender liner for easy access. I can take pictures tomorrow if that makes this description clearer. I can't imagine doing it any other way to be honest.

I can't unscrew my can. Haven't put it in a vice yet...kinda worried i might mar it. Has anybody else had this problem? Any suggestions on how to crack this baby open? I figured clockwise to tighten and counter to loosen
Also how are you guys installing the washers? Screw bracket washer can or screw washer bracket can? Quality product btw, can't wait to install!!!! Thanks Mishi!

Yeah the can was pretty tight. I screwed one of the fittings in to give me more leverage and it unscrewed that way. I did screw-washer-bracket.

mishimoto any advice on initially unscrewing the can? Seems weird they would tightened that much as a few people now have expressed this.

Thanks for the feedback and description! There are multiple ways of emptying this catch can so that the user can choose the best way that works for their Fiesta. The drain kit certainly makes draining more simple and we would love to see how you routed the hose from your kit for reference.

The can comes pre-tightened so that you can simply install it on your Fiesta without having to tighten it yourself. That being said we don't blame you for wanting to see the internals of the can, they're pretty cool! Rather than put the can itself in a vice, as you said it may scratch the can, I would suggest you attach the bracket for more leverage on the lid. The washer should be between the screw and the bracket and the bracket should sit flush to the can. Here is the install video you can check out if you need a more detailed reference! (Install Video) Let me know if you have any additional questions!
Thanks!

From here you can't even tell that the PCV system has been modified in any way

Hose fit/finish and quality is far better than the OEM part

Stealthy and effective placement, however not somewhere you'd want to try draining from

It takes a bit of finesse to get it in and oriented in the best way

You have to install the drain fitting and hose before you install the can in the car otherwise there is simply no way you are going to be able to do it. Since the original screw fitting had teflon on the threads, I wrapped the drain kit fitting in teflon tape as well - it can't hurt! Once you snake the drain hose down the way you want, slither the catch can into position.

Here you can see the hose (the one going straight down) routed on the inside of the coolant hose immediately below the catch can, then in between the two segments of wiring harness, going on the outside of the frame rail down into the fender well. This is the straightest and most effective routing besides going straight down and into the drive belts on the other side of the frame rail (not recommended). Don't be fooled by the wide angle of the photo, the open space you see here is barely enough to fit my hand with zero wiggle room.
