Hello everyone,

My name is Jerrick and I am from MeisterR.
MeisterR is a suspension specialist from the UK, and we just recently expanded to the USA.
Some of you may have heard of us and other may not, but I intend to be part of the community so any questions regarding suspension, I am alway happy to help.

Our main offering is coilovers, and our newest generation is the ZetaCRD Coilovers.
Here are a few cars that have use our suspension in competitive event in the UK.

Coming from the UK, I am just trying to get a general feel what community want from their suspension.
MeisterR suspension are design as multi-role suspension that does everything well.

For the Fiesta ST, we have the ZetaCRD+ Coilovers.
Springs rate specification are Front 5kg/mm, Rear 3kg/mm (OEM in board springs).

Our ZetaCRD are design for fast road & track use, and so the springs rate are design around compliancy over uneven road surfaces, while retaining damper adjustments for track use.

However, most enthusiast seems to engage with SCCA Auto Solo that require a slightly different setup than most track suspension.
We want to know do track enthusiast want dedicated setup that that is even stiffer to handle quick transition such as Auto Solo event, but give up compliancy for road use in return.

Let us know what you think, we are just taking in opinion at the moment.
Looking forward to hear from everyone.

Jerrick

[MENTION=4680]MeisterR[/MENTION] One big difference on this side of the pond is the quality of roads. Due to the inclement weather with freezing, ice, snow, etc... We have nice potholes, cracks/gaps, undulations etc... For me I do not track the car but I want a nice cornering ability and tight ride in the summer and a pothole munching ride in the winter months.

The UK road are just as bad, huge pot hole and uneven road surfaces on major road.
And most back country road feels like a Tarmac Rally Stage. :)

That is why our suspension are always design for fast road & track use, because a level of compliancy have to be build in if you want the suspension to find traction.
Especially true for cold & wet road surfaces, which in UK is most time of the year.

We already produce the ZetaCRD coilovers for Fast Road & Track Use.
These are design to work well on uneven road surface, and the damper adjustment allow the car to be adjusted quickly to suit occasional track day / autoX event.

Here is one of our customer with MeisterR coilovers... and the R34 GTR is his also. [clap]

And he does track the car, and feed back had been positive.

One of the main concern I had was for cars who are more dedicated for AutoX use may require a stiffer springs setup.
But talking to the few owners across a few forums, it seems most are happy with a good dual purpose setup vs. a stiffer dedicated suspension setup.

Just want to see what the community preference are like, as it may be different from the UK that we are used to. :)

One last requirement. Make it feasible to ship to Canada. It actually is cheaper to get from the UK than fro the US. Just a though to stock some in the UK for overseas 5 door cars or us Canucks.

I just done some number crunching... you are right.
That make no sense, it seems like UPS brokering charge is what kills it in shipping cost.

I just work that out and it actually work out cheaper to ship from the UK.
So, I will have a chat with our UK warehouse and I think all Canadian order will ship out from the UK, as crazy as that actually sounds.

I crunch some number out, basically I am able to do $65 shipping to Canada.
This will be send by UPS saver, so that mean the import brokerage fee has been paid, the only thing to pay is the duty and tax of your local jurisdiction.

That sounds like a fair deal? So the coilovers delivered will be $1060 USD + local duty and tax.

Okay, let me know then.
Going this route mean we skip out the UPS custom brokerage charges at the border.
Because of the value of the good, they charge around USD $75 + tax just for that fee if it was shipped by Ground service. [ohcrap]

Even I thought that was over the top, but had been thinking what is the best way around it and looks like coming from the UK cut all that out. [clap]

The problem with UPS altogether for us Canadians is the duty they charge. We always will have to pay the taxes. But UPS charges us through the wazoo just for their duty fee on top of the import fees. It's so bad these days I refuse to even order from vendors who will only ship via UPS.

I actually took a look at my customer order list, the Duty and VAT are paid to the government, so UPS don't make anything.
But it is the almost $80 in brokerage fee that they charge when items are ship in via ground service that kills you.

If it is coming in expedited or saver service, the brokerage fee are already included in the shipping.
That makes it cheaper to send from an island half way around the world than from your neighbours from the south... make no sense.
But at least we got a way around it because we operate in 2 different country. :)
