Mechanical BOV question.....

I'm pretty sick of the electronic DV. Would unplugging the electronic DV but leaving it hooked to the turbo and running a tial/pandamotorworks bov work? I will have the plate needed to get a vac source plus a hot side pipe (panda) ready to take the true bov all set. Just wondering if leaving the DV in will cause any issues.

Down the road a 2860 turbo will be coming so this will also be one less thing I gotta buy then too.

Not interested in the turbo smart one. Useless when going big turbo.

If you leave the electric dv in place but unplug it I'm pretty sure it would just leak boost like mad and make no boost. You will need a block off plate or something similar to bolt in place of the stock dv. As the stock dv is just a solenoid when it has no power going to it, if can easily be opened or closed. So when the system would try to pressurize I'm pretty sure it would push open and leak boost.

Personally I got the turbo smart shorty compact BOV to replace the stock one and I'm extremely happy. I will be going big turbo in the near future and sticking with turbo smart for my BOV needs.

You need a block off plate on to replace the stock one bro. The DV is open unless told to be closed, so no signal, no worky.

MAP performance makes a block off kit along with charge pipes to use a standard BOV. Not sure if they sell it separately though.
