Most on here would know Goodwood for their annual Festival Of Speed held there in late June or early July, with all of the recent, vintage, and historic race and rally machinery run there (and on the hillclimb as well).

I would love to do the hill climb but I don’t think it’s open to the public!

Just picked up a Coolerworx shifter for £433 including taxes and shipping. They have 30% off for Black Friday and couldn't resist.

Installed the Coolerworx shifter today, and not one part of the installation was enjoyable! I used the video from Spark Plug Steve as reference, but it seems they have revised the design since his video came out. You have to wrestle the shifter cables into place, and there's barely enough room to fit a spanner inside the frame to tighten everything.

However, it is in now, and it feels absolutely incredible!

My previous set up was the stock shifter on stilts. This worked surprisingly well and I'd recommend anyone to do it if you don't have the centre console. I also had a Pumaspeed short shifter which I removed.



They supply a new linkage for the shifter cable and you need to cut the old fitting off. The new fitting is held in with grub screws, but I think I will add a small blob of weld next time I'm at the garage to ensure this doesn't pop off.

I spent about 20 minutes adjusting the screws to set the end of travel for each gear. Everything feels so crisp and sharp, it's quite incredible!

Today I fitted some polycarbonate windows from ACW motorsports. They're 4mm thick and have sliders with a locking mechanism.

First step was to gut the doors. It took quite a while to figure out the first one. There's quite a few videos on YouTube for the US 5 door, but the UK 3 door is totally different and I couldn't find anything. There's little clips that you need to free to release the window instead of a 10mm bolt. I couldn't see any way of the inner skin and the mechanism going back in once it came out - good job they don't need to!



Next was to test fit the window:



I used some long M6 bolts with a some nuts and washers to push the window as best I could up against the weather strip. I think I'm going to run some sealant over it as I don't think it's going to be enough. At least they are locked in place with these:

At the weekend I will strip all the excess wiring out of the doors and find some way of making some door cars. I'll also probably replace the rear windows and the boot/trunk window at some point too. I didn't weigh anything, but the glass window setup was significantly heavier!
