LED DRL/Turn Signal Wiring Question

So I have custom headlights, it has two amber LEDs in dummy projectors on each side, turn signal is in the same place just behind the dummy projector. I would like to wire it so the LEDs are constant on except when I activate the turn signals, I would like to make it so they flash with the turns.

My first thought is to do a relay but I'm having some issues figuring out what to buy, It would sort of be like making my own switchback. Has anyone done this on another car ?

Why not use the switchbacks?

They are LED strips not bulbs, the way the units are built they aren't socketed for bulbs except for the original turn signal bulb which has a led strip mounted next to it inside the housing. That's why I am forced to do a DIY approach for the electrical side. I have them set as constant on, love the way it looks and just want to make it have both units flash with the turns.
