I've had a persistent limp mode issue for awhile now with my tuned 2016 FiST (3900 mi). Right now I have the following mods installed:
Cobb Accessport
Tune+ custom tune
DHM Race Intercooler/crash bar
FSWerks Short Shift plate
MAP CBE
Tune+ Turbosmart IWG controller
"colder" Denso spark plugs
Cobb RMM
Almost all of these mods required removing and installing various parts of the intake, the bumper, sensors galore, etc. My car is tuned by Adam at Tune+ and feels amazing... except I run into limp mode quite often in first gear, while shifting into second, and occasionally just revving the car out (at partial throttle) in second gear. I don't go into limp mode any other time. The only code I pull is P016B. The crazy thing is that I go into limp mode at partial throttle, barely any throttle, and rarely at WOT. Third gear pulls from 2500RPM to redline are fine. I regularly show vacuum of 9.5-12.0 on the Accessport, and my car has no problem pulling 25-26psi, depending the situation. Anecdotally I seem to go into limp mode more often in wet conditions such as rain and after a car wash. The car does not throw codes or go limp everyday, but it's fairly often and only in the aforementioned conditions. This led me to believe I have a bad sensor or connection somewhere. Last time I checked my air filter it was clean and dry though. Even raising the torque threshold on the tune so that the code I'm getting is effectively disabled, I went into limp today again, but with no code as per the Accessport.
I'm away at training and don't have access to all of my tools, but for starters, I'm going to recheck all of my hoses and make sure neither of the nuts on my IWG have moved since installing. I didn't have any codes prior to the IWG install, but I did it exactly according to instructions and triple checked it when installed. I don't know of anyone having my exact problem though. I'm just looking for ideas this point as I don't want to just go on a goose hunt replacing sensors.
