Very reasonable price for a drop in solution so many need!

If not for the DIY setup I am already running, which was a great deal of work, I would order one of these for sure. Nice to know if my car is ever damaged on the front and I need to replace the radiator I will have a much easier solution to fix it:)

Well, it looks like early March is going to be a BUSY time for the shop where my car goes for personality adjustments. Hoping I'm about done with changes after this thing -- beyond pads, fluids, and nut and bolt. Oy

Huge difference in size. I do have one question how much clearance is there to the oil filter with this new radiator installed?

This looks great! This deal is good until 26 Feb right? I have to look a what after Christmas money will be like but would really like this for peace of mind in the desert summers I have here. I've already done a big intercooler and crash bar. With the bumper and intercooler off how much is involved with installing?

Thank you RAAM! If you ever need a direct-fit solution, we have you covered.

Thanks!

I'll be ordering one of these come January lol.

Pre-order ftw.
Great, thanks Perf.

Yes, the additional fluid capacity and improved core design are big contributors to reducing coolant temperatures. The temperature issue with the FIST is so severe we found it necessary to stuff the front end with the largest cooler we could fit. That being said, the oil filter still has plenty of clearance. Keep in mind we are including a revised radiator fan shroud, which is actually far smaller than the stock unit. The filter is actually not in front of the shroud at all, only the radiator core. Clearance is very similar to that of the factory radiator and shroud assembly.

Thanks for taking a look Jayrod. Yes, the pre-sale will be live until the ship date which is currently estimated at the end of February. Install on this radiator is not what I would call simple. It does require some extensive component removal on the front-end of the vehicle. That being said, we are working on a video installation guide which will take you through the process step-by-step. A basic set of hand tools and an extra set of hands will be all you need.

Just Ordered

Just in time for some hardcore spring track days
Thank you very much for the order!

UUGGGG if I wasn't deployed right now I'd be getting one of these to give it a proper Nurburgring thrashing!

Awhile ago, there was an exchange somewhere between you and Rick (RAAMAudio) regarding swapping in the larger Ford oil filter (this one: http://www.mountuneusa.com/Motorcraft-Oil-Filter-FL-400-S-Focus-ST-2013-15-p/fl-400s.htm). Would that filter body fit with the new radiator in place? Trying to be efficient and getting several things to be adjusted at the same time.

Thanks.

I have used the Wix, NAPA Gold 1355 for some time now on this car and for many years different sizes on street, street/track and full race cars.

With the stock oil cooler element in place and with the DIY big radiator, no worries fitting the 1355 which is as good a fiter as you will ever really need and much larger than the stock unit. Bigger filters means more filtering, more oil capacity....a very cheap upgrade. I am sure it will fit with the Mishi radiator and fan shroud and even bigger ones if you wish but not sure needed.

For some reason some of the Napa Gold filters are not the black and gold colors like the white of the 1355 but no worries from all I have researched, still the same filter and Wix has been filters have been used in racing for a very long time.

NOTE: I will double check the part number, my notes are out in the car and I need to stock going up and down the RV stairs for the night, old knee injury acting up, remind me and I will check but pretty sure that is the number:)

Thanks, no rush. Nothing is happening until the middle of March since that's about when the radiator lands. It's a bitch getting older, eh?

I probably won't get the radiator right away as their oil cooler has helped a great deal already, but look forward to track testing data from Mishimoto and other members next year.

BTW is this 1.3 bar cap compatible with our OEM radiator? http://www.mishimoto.com/mishimoto-high-pressure-bar-radiator-cap-large.html

Would like to get one to increase pressure in cooling system. I'm running distilled water + water wetter, which is more efficient but lowers boiling point compared to a typical water/coolant mix .

Our stock cap is 21psi I think... Unless I'm just thinking that from seeing my mom's cap on her fiesta sFe that I did the timing belt on..

Thanks for the input Raam! From what I recall, the larger filter increases the size right around 1". If this is the case, this should fit just fine with our radiator and shroud setup.

Thanks Juliog, great to hear the oil cooler is working out well for you. The FIST uses a threaded 21 psi cap from the factory, which is located on the coolant expansion tank. Our 1.3 bar cap features a different sealing method, so unfortunately it is not compatible with the stock Fiesta tank.

I did not measure the size change but did confirm the 1355 filter fitting my setup as just bought one, top line Castrol full synthetic and had the oil changed at a lube shop where they let me in the pit to take off and put back on the cooler hose so the cooler was properly drained. $20 to let me bring in my own parts and supervise the change directly is a pretty good deal when you no longer have a garage and a bad knee issue:)

Here is what can be done, swap all the parts that are going in, with our without your oil cooler setup.

Measure how much room there is around the filter and in front of it to ensure what size will fit and spin off far enough to remove it.

Go to Napa and compare the Napa Gold 1355 to the specs you have and if fits, great, if not, find the biggest one you can that will, they have many to chose from.

Note: Many if not most of the Napa Gold filters are black but the 1355 happens to be white, if you prefer black then just find the biggest black one that fits.

Is there any update on the ETA?
We do. I spoke with the project manager handling this radiator today regarding our time-line and progress. There was a slight alteration needed to the fan shroud design, which set our completion date back a touch. We are now expecting to ship out pre-sale orders right around the end of March. In addition to the shroud adjustment, we are also re-designing our packaging to be more robust for this particular radiator/shroud combo.

Sorry for the inconvenience guys. We are working as quickly as we can to knock out our first batch.
