I pay $24.95 a month for unlimited washes. If I want to wash my car three times a day, so be it. That includes their polish too. Considering each wash costs $12.00 per pass (a la carte), it pays for it's self in just two car washes per month (except for the .95 cents hehehe). I use it at least 2-3 times a week so it's worth the $25 a month.

I don't like them. Bought a monthly pass for unlimited washes at a reputable wash in the Ann Arbor area for my 13 Focus HB. I ended up with several scratches and swirls. One of the scratches was 5" long! Ugh. All could have been polished out, but I ended my passes after a short while. I just picked up my FiST this past Thursday. I'll only be hand washing it. There is a nice do it yourself wash less than a mile from me, so I'll just be going there and breaking the rules with a bucket wash. Auto wash at your own risk!!

I will reluctantly admit that i used a TOUCHLESS car wash several times this brutal winter only for the undercarriage wash. Its something i actually didn't mind doing because there's nothing actually touching your car, the wash is just a bunch of nozzles moving all around spraying soap and foam and water.

I can get behind touchless automatic. For me, the only downside of handwashing is that I'm not able to spray out the undercarriage as completely as I want. I get down on a knee and spray from all sides, but it's not quite the same as spraying from underneath.

Exactly. Especially in below freezing temps with freeeeezing water and soap puddles all around you.

I have not.. hand washes only. I WOULD take it through a touchless wash if I had to, but Ive found that they normally just make your car look worse than it did before the "wash"

I haven't decided if I am going to risk dirtying my wash buckets on my fiesta. I do have last years wash mitts i was just going to throw away so its possible i will use them to wash mine once its nice. It may just not get washed like my last dd. Touchless twice a year is adequate isn't it??

When I lived in an apartment, I used a touchless wash, followed up by a cleanup with microfiber towels in an area that was completely in the shade. The owners never had a problem since I went early in the morning. Now that I'm in a home, I use a foam cannon with my pressure blaster, air blaster, and lots of autogeek.net solutions, each and every week. I really like the german stuff from Sonax. I use them exclusively. I also use sealers and polishers from wolfgang and blackfire with a Girots buffer.

Touchless washes are pretty terrible in the grand scheme but don't have much potential for scratching. Its good to get the big salt off in winter or underbody flush imo, and thats about it. They always leave a sort of dirt film behind even if you are just getting a dusty car washed. The car i own that i care about is super dirty imo, as it hasn't been washed in 5 months over winter and sat in my garage. It is MUCH more clean then my FiST was when i got a touchless wash at 400 miles. lol It is much more clean than my fist was delivered to me as well. It really is all relative. For MY FiST a touchless wash every couple months will likely be fine. If you care about how your car looks, it wont be, you will need to hand wash it yourself.

When my folks were still with us and lived in Bradenton, I tried to avoid driving into FL during the "love bug" seasons. Dad used to install a screen in the front of his Lincoln to keep the "damage" down to a minimum...not that I recommend that for your FiST!

I ran her through spray only washes on glide tracks, not rails. I made the mistake of running my Audi once on rails and scratched my rims. It wasn't pleasant! But honestly I just pressure wash with a liquid wax coat and wipe off with some nice lint free cloths.

The best thing you can do is hand wash it yourself, though i know that's sometimes easier said than done. As others have noted, car washes can ruin your paint and leave swirl marks all over, plus they use recycled water with chlorine which will damage your paint. If you can, hand wash your car yourself, use micro fiber towels, start from the top down, and try to wax it once a month. The waxing alone will do wonders to protect your paint. If you can do nothing else, wax your car.... just my 2 cents.
