I'm leaning toward zapping the new bolts with my impact. I've already scrapped one ring gear trying to get the bolts torqued to 37ftlbs +90 degrees and I didn't even come close. I'm using a large bench vise, increasing clamping force gradually as the gear kept pulling out. I got to a point where I chipped the teeth from too much force and it still wasn't getting me anywhere near torque spec. It just kept rotating out of the jaws. I've ordered a new ring gear, hopefully it shows up in time for my track day in a few weeks. :(

I think one of the easier approaches, is to heat up the ring gear to get it to grow enough so it just drops on. heat it to maybe 200-250f in an oven/toaster oven and let it soak at that temp for an hour so the whole thing comes up to temperature. Then just let it fall into place and quickly line up the bolt holes before it shrinks too much and locks down tight. then install the bolts and pull it all tight.
