Went to open my hood to install new headlight bulbs - the hood release lever under the dash pulls freely, like the cable disconnected from the latch under the hood. I was able to get a trim panel tool under the center of the hood (just above the Ford logo) to try and see what's going on, and sure enough the end of the cable isn't clipped in. Tried jacking it up and looking from underneath to see if I could manually release the hood...not happening. Any ideas?
My last resort is taking it to the f*cking dealer...I had the blend door actuator replaced under warranty recently and when I got the car back, the brake light switch was hanging freely under the dash! Idiots. For all I know they could have f*cked up my hood release too, as I haven't touched it since taking it in.
