Hi all, thanks to everyone so far for being welcoming and super helpful!

Here is a link to a FiST in Kansas City.

https://kansascity.craigslist.org/cto/d/kansas-city-2018-ford-fiesta-st/7809667598.html

I’m learning on the fly here, what does everyone think of this example? Seems like it’s in great condition. I’ve been texting the owner and says he’s never tracked it, but has taken it out for fun / thrown it around some corners.

Here’s a video he sent me starting the car up.

Anyone more experienced have any thoughts?

Thanks in advance!

I guess maybe the CLs link might not be working, so here are the photos from the ad

The CL listing shows carbon fiber trim on the steering wheel which is not there in your video. It also lists 18" OEM wheels. The OEM wheel was 17".

The car looks like a nice example. It's been lowered and the exhaust is louder than stock. It has a short shifter. To me those would all be liabilities, as would the stage 3 tune with cat removal. I'd have to drive it to decide on the springs.

Burnt Orange recaros on a Spice Orange car & it has 59k miles. I would personally take that in a heartbeat, but I'd pull a CarFax first.

Do these two things give you concern? The person I am in communication with says they are the original owner buying it off of the show room floor.

Can't, the person won't provide me with the VIN. They say they don't want their personal information out there. Seems odd to me.

The concern is that the photos may not be of the same car.

If you're going to buy the car from him you're going to have his personal information. There's no way around it. You're going to have the title. Have you spoken to the seller on the phone?

No not yet, it he did give me his phone number and offered to call him. Honestly the fact you pointed these things out makes me hesitant, and since he’s in Kansas City and I’m in CA, I’ll just pass. Happy to look elsewhere as I’m willing to travel for the right one. This doesn’t feel like it.

It's there in the photos.

It's loud.
I'd definitely want to test drive it. I have the same shift knob. It works. Does the PO have any documentation or original parts? Does it have the owners manual or the original window sticker?

Right, but that’s what SteveS is saying. The carbon fiber is in the photos but if you watch the video and slow it down, the steering wheel does not have carbon fiber on it. I didn’t notice this either until he pointed it out.

You're right. It's a recent addition.
I'm not a bling guy, but at least it looks fairly clean, and the mileage ain't bad. These engines last.
You should drive it before you buy it.
Hell, go test-drive some regular Fiestas just to get a feel of what the chassis should feel like. It's just a Fiesta with damn near perfect upgrades to make it really fun. It should run and drive solid.
Glad I'm still on the stock exhaust. My intake tells me all I need to know when I'm in sport mode.
