Help (#3)! The hood latch doesn't work after cable reinstall

Hi all! I finally got my project done. Reattached the hood latch cable. I couldn't test with the hood open because it was only me and no one else there to see if it moved when the lever in the car was pulled. Now I cannot open the hood. Any advice?

You have to manually disengage the locking mechanism somehow. Maybe you can reach up from under the car with a long screwdriver to trigger the latch release?
