Is there a reason nobody seems to have done anything with a Garrett GT2252?

Did a search and couldn't find any results.... Plenty for 2554/2560/2860+ and various hybrids.

That is WAAAAY too tiny, I think. That is a bit too close to a stock turbo than most people could justify spending money on.

Edit: I think I am wrong, let me look at the spec sheets. Edit2: Maybe not, it is a 0.51 A/R compressor housing, while the GT2560R is a 0.80 A/R compressor housing. The GT2252 sounds like it would be kick ass instant spool setup for a twin turbo for a V6 or a straight 6. The product catalog shows it is also a journal bearing turbo, which is a bit inferior to a ball bearing turbo. It requires a slightly bigger motor to spool and puts out a little less power than the other turbos. A little less than optimal for our applications.

Low A/R compressor housings are optimized for high-boost applications, while high A/R compressor housings are optimized for lower-boost efficiency.

With the turbine side, this is somewhat opposite. Low A/R turbine for good response, high A/R turbine for high flow.

Effectively they are almost the same, except for the inferior journal/thrust bearing.
