IF there was a partial generator (alternator, I don't know what they are technically labeled in our rides by Ford??), and/or voltage regulator circuitry/system problem, or deficiency, would there be ANY dash light at all showing up, or any trouble codes at all??

I ask because my Odyssey 96R-600 AGM would not start the car last night, and when the AAA driver showed up to jump it with the NOCO pack, he said it was reading about 13% capacity.

I have been mostly short-tripping lately, but with a few longer trips back into Pennsyltucky, so I am wondering if there is a charging system problem or not. [dunno] [???:)]

This battery is about 2.5 years old, and it has a general 'service life' of about 6-8 years, going by general 'average to hard usage'.

Does a serious drop in sensed battery voltage, or alternator/generator OUTPUT trigger ANY dash lights/DTCs at all?

Or does the battery just go dead without any warning from the charging system whatsoever??

It's been a while, but when my battery died, I don't recall any lights warning me of it's impending death.

Odyssey AGM batteries have a 14.7V peak charge. I recall this is higher than regulated car voltage. When I had the PC680 battery in car, I occasionally pulled it out of car to get it fully changed on the OBC-12A Odyssey charger.

I had this happen before, so I looked it up to confirm.

Why are all the lights on my dashboard flashing?
It often happens due to problems with the alternator. An alternator is the main component of recharging the battery and controls the running of all the electrical constituents in your car. If the alternator gets damaged or destroyed, it may not supply enough current to all the parts. For this reason, your vehicle’s dashboard is flashing or flickering.

On the FiST all that is monitored is that a proper charging voltage is applied. Not a voltage on battery with engine off. On our 2019 Mustang we got a low voltage notice when my wife did not drive it for a couple of months to prevent trying to start it and running it flat thus killing the many computer in it. Mechanic came out and put a slow charge on it overnight and all was well. The FiST did not lose my tune (MP215) nor Sync 3 data in the brief time of changing the battery.

This is what I was doing, once about every three weeks with the bespoke Odyssey Ultimizer 25 amp charger (Schumacher made though), but, with the battery in the car.

The Odyssey techs informed me that with that charger, it is IMPOSSIBLE to overcharge and cook their batteries, as all of the circuitry in both the charger AND the battery will prevent this from happening.
Once up to charge, and desulphated, it will go into a maintenance charge mode only.
