I'm in the process of putting my engine back in my car, but when I went to start for the first time, I realized the fuel line was not seated properly and spraying fuel. I thought maybe I had worn out the internal retainer clip, so I went to the junkyard and grabbed a couple from other Fiestas (non-ST versions). They looked the exact same as mine though, but I tried them anyways. Nope, still spraying fuel.
Is there supposed to be an o-ring or something in the fuel line connection with the clip? When I put them together, the line has way too much movement, like half an inch, and is obviously not sealing correctly.
I'm going to buy some brand new ones from Ford, but I'm so confused. This is the same line that came apart when I pulled the engine, same fuel lines - same connector - same everything. Can anyone please tell me what I'm missing? This is the last thing I need to resolve before I can start driving this car again. Please help!!!
