Looks great. Just curious though, what is the thought process behind doing the R&D and creating a brand new product, yet not making it compatible with the latest model year too? I can understand it being an issue for companies that finalized their design a few years back and now have a ton of stock already made. It just seems like you guys are at the point now where you can remedy this and make it work with the 2016 models.
THIS! Us 2016 guys are left hung out to dry. The 2016's have been out for a while now you would think the updated intakes would be available

Yes, we are definitely aware of the CCV port changes for the ’16 model year. We are working on a component which will allow this design to work with new models.

Details coming soon.

Hey John, a couple questions what material is the air box made out of and was there any consideration of using plastic instead of aluminum for the intake piping? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't' plastics less susceptible to heatstroke compared to aluminum?
The airbox within this kit is constructed from powder coated steel. For 95% of our intake kits, this is the material of choice. So far we’ve found that our kits produce a very similar intake temperature compared to a factory intake system, this particular product included. The silicone piece attached to the turbocharger should prevent direct contact with the aluminum piping, which should help keep that component a bit cooler. The airbox provides a protective shield for warm ambient temperatures within the engine bay.

I wont mind aluminum for piping from box, the critical piece for heat soak is the turbo inlet piece. Wich they have made out of silicone!!!! Thank you!!!! Now this intake with the Velossa Tech Big mouth will be legit.
Thanks!

are you going to sell just this part? If not, why not? If so, I'll take one yesterday.

This has not yet been determined. We are still testing this component to ensure appropriate operation. Once confirmed, we will address the methods for offering this adapter.

Thanks

Last update before our pre-sale begins!

Fresh Air For The Fiesta! ST Performance Intake R&D, Part 7: Final Prototype Installation

With our final prototype in hand, our team went to work bolting everything into place. We’ve made minor tweaks to the design, so we just want to be sure fitment is spot-on for our final iteration.

Check out a few shots from the final install.

Everything bolted on perfectly, and this setup looks quite nice in the engine bay of the Fiesta. We will be making one small adjustment to our logo location; in the spot pictured it is a bit hidden by the hood prop rod clip.

Finish Options

Everyone likes to have options; they provide the opportunity to personalize your engine bay setup or match other existing components. We recognize this need, and our team decided on three options for the intake pipe finish. Check it out.

Fiesta ST parts

Our three options are polished, wrinkle black, and wrinkle red. The wrinkle finishes are powder coated for optimum scratch and damage resistance.

We highlighted the polished option in detail in our last segment. Check out a couple additional detail shots of the two powder-coated options.

2016 Fitment

As many of you are aware, Ford changed the CCV system on the 2016 model. This adjustment required adding an additional port to our intake piping. Unfortunately, many of the existing 2014–2015 intake systems will not function with 2016 models unless serious modifications are made.

Not to worry though, as our team is working on an adapter that will allow our intake to be used on the brand-new models. Below is a render of our adapter.

This is just a rough design at the moment. We will be working to test functionality and refine the aesthetics a bit.

Details on the way.

Thanks for reading!

Presale soon? I love the design
Yes! We should have our discounted pre-sale up next week. Thanks for the interest.

Have you thought about plexiglass for the cover of the airbox?
Yes, we've considered this on a few different projects. Our first batch of these kits will feature the metal lid. We can definitely consider alternate materials if there is interest.

Thanks

Is your intake going to come with the 2016 adapter you are working on or are the 2016 out of luck
As of right now our adapter setup is not yet complete or fully tested. For now, the intake will be offered for '14-'15 models only. Once we finish up the adapter we will be able to expand our fitment to '16 models.

Thanks

Sure is. Our discounted pre-sale rate will be $294.95.

Thanks
-John
Will this pre-sale price be made available to those of us with the '16 models when your adapter is ready, or will we be stuck paying full price or hunting for a discount through a 3rd party vendor?
