The front looks wonky and I wouldn’t back that ass up
For all the improvements they did you might change your mind if you got some seat time in one. Tighter steering than ours, Recaros are lowered into the proper low seating position not sitting high like ours, the 3 cylinder is actually sick sounding and has potential. Interior looks and design is nicer as well. Factory LSD installed option, rear suspension has been worked over as well. All in all in a lot of ways its a better car.

Front end is not bad it was the rear end that originally turned me off . but with all the factory improvements and given the option to get one I would seriously consider it. I would have to do a back to back. Though from everything I have read driving and handling wise Ford did not screw up and make it worse.
The New Focus ST looks kinda sick as well and has lots of improvements too. It sucks Ford decided to screw us for their greed and mistakes.

I don’t like either. I’ll take my car

it has a tow hook. Like other Euro 3-door ones. Why wouldn't Ford see it fit to put one in the USDM car? Is this because they have a hugely different bumper over there for 'pedestrian protection'? Bang&Olufsen stereo too - not some crappy underpowered Sony head unit.

I guarantee the sound system still sucks because the company was willing to sell out and compromise their name for money. I recently watched a great video about automotive sound systems there's really only a few companies that will basically tell manufacturers this is how we're going to build it, and if you're not willing to pay the price we're not going to do business with you.
The particular company that was not willing to compromise whatsoever is Bowers & Wilkins. They are producing sound systems for some very high-end cars Volvo being one of them. It's basically the best rated automotive audio system on the planet they will not compromise their name.

I had B&W in my Jaguar XJ Supercharged; it was good, but my ears couldn't pick a major difference from a Bose system in my CTS-Vagon. (Always liked B&O sleek designs tho).

I still don't understand why ford screwed the country that made them who they are today? Where did ford first get his start? Who bought most of the model - A's? This will be the last ford I will buy....onto the foreign born Cars that are now made here and have some good stuff coming down the pipeline. ford is Truck and SUV sick. Notice I don't capitalize ford anymore as they don't get that respect out of me any longer.

For the price increase and total price above what a FiST goes for here, spend the difference and you can have all those things and more. 18” wheels? You can keep those. Quaife lsd? Mfactory is less expensive and higher quality. Coil overs? PITA if you see salt. Bonus-our car is better looking. This is a positive post.

Well I can”t speculate on the price as the car is not here. It looks good on paper but I would have to drive it. I do wish Ford had brought it here so we had the option. Then final judgement on if it was worth it could be rendered. Prices in the UK for a car do not reflect prices here. Its also a subjective situation.
I just remember so well back in the day. When both European and Japanese car manufacturers were holding out on sending the best cars to the U.S. It’s why the whole Grey Market business got started in the 80”s. I helped a friend import a brand BMW E30 M3 when they first came out because of it.
So it sucks that Ford has resorted to a whole game of all out money grab even though both the Fiesta and the Focus actually sold upwards of 50K units a year. Not terribly huge numbers but not the kinda of disaster numbers I have seen other car manufacturers do. Lol
They were not making lots of profit but they were not losing on these cars. They made enough from the trucks to carry the rest of the company.
The car axing was a complete give in to shareholders looking for quick profit. It was a long term blunder in my book
You do not see Toyota making this mistake nor Honda,Nissan, etc.. only Ford and GM who dare I say it have resorted to classic American car company thinking and blunder. The FIST was the reason that this was the first time I had bought American in years..There was the glimmer of wow from Ford for a minute there. They managed to to snuff that out.

I’m sure it’s great. We can’t get one. Make Your FiSTs Great/Better Today Or When You Can Afford IT. I’d like to see that on a hat.
Humorous post.

I actually like the styling. The front looks great to me, love the headlights. The rear isn't any better or worse looking than ours. At least the taillights are sleek and functional unlike our giant weirdo taillights. Not that a smaller taillight would fit the styling on our car, is what it is.
