Maybe not here.... But the A45 IS THE COMPETITION ( as noted by two magazines ). And with limited production numbers and rumors of $5,000++ over MSRP and options on pricing, it needs to crush everything on the track and on paper. Fact is, you want to start on the pole in 1st place and make the others respond and pass you, who wants to start in 2nd place? Saying, "its an AMG" is an excuse. This is ford.... This is not some start up company that CANT compete with AMG, ITS FORD. They can compete. And they have already started in 2nd place when they didn't have to.

So its not as nice inside as a golf-R ( ok, I understand that one, lots of VW products are nice on the inside and junk under the skin, not that the golf-R is... ). And its not as fast as the A45.

I just expected more. Maybe it was the hype. Maybe its the price. Maybe its because I know it can and WILL be better.

On one of the articles it was saying how the tranny was at its limits with the stock 345hp.... First of all that's shitty so going aftermarket with this is gonna suck... But secondly how can our fiesta be doing just fine with the stock tranny with Dhm hitting 423whp or about 100hp more, does it have to do with the re Awd?

In short, yes. It sounds incredibly complex and includes clutch plates to allow overdriving the rear wheels and putting up to 70% of available torque to a single rear wheel. I'd be lying if I said I understood all the engineering magic, but it sounds like it comes at a cost and that cost is heat.

My lust for the fist has waned.

I have been looking at foci and I always said I will get an RS if it came out.

So depending on what happens with this TDI I have because of the recall. I am shooting for a 2017 RS.

Fingers crossed

Focus RS Drivers Can Shred Snow with First-Ever Factory Winter Tire Package

http://racing.ford.com/enthusiasts/...rs-drivers-can-shred-snow-with-first-eve.html

"Winter be Damned!"

FEB 17, 2016 | Ford Motor Company Press Release

  • Focus RS will be first car in North America to offer a winter tire and wheel option as a factory accessory
  • Focus RS Winter Wheel & Tire Package includes Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tires, 18-inch silver-painted wheels, tire pressure monitoring sensors, and center caps all fully mounted and balanced
  • Package is certified to Ford Performance standards; arrives at dealerships ready for installation

DEARBORN, Mich. -- Customers of Ford’s all-new all-wheel-drive 350-horsepower Focus RS will now be able to order a fully certified winter tire kit for great driving enjoyment in the snow.

The Focus RS Winter Wheel & Tire Package offers customers a unique set of wheels and tires -- the first time an original equipment manufacturer is making a check-the-box winter tire option available in North America.

“We started this project knowing what our RS customers really want out of their cars,” says Adam Wirth, chassis supervisor, Ford Performance. “This tire package allows RS owners to continue spirited driving even in the snow.”

Ford Performance developed this package so the most demanding Focus customers can be outfitted with optimum equipment for winter conditions. The challenge was that normal vehicle testing procedures require certification with production wheels and tires; winter-only standards had never been authored. To bring this package to owners, the first step Ford Performance had to undertake was creating a new set of standards specifically suited for brutal winter conditions.

These new standards were put to the test in extreme cold and snow in Northern Michigan and Sweden, to guarantee the quality and performance Ford customers expect. Engineers and technicians tested a wide variety of high-performance winter tire and wheel setups to determine the optimum combination for ride, handling and performance in various wintry conditions.

The winning setup is a 225/40R18 Michelin Pilot Alpin PA4 tire mounted to a new 18x7.5-inch wheel, which looks very similar to the base Focus RS option, but is finished in sparkle silver to hide salt spray. The set is complete with tire pressure monitoring sensors and center caps fully mounted and balanced and ready for installation at the dealer.

The wheel and tire are narrower, to provide improved snow traction, while the overall diameter is smaller, so owners can fit chains if necessary.

“We fully expect our more extreme-weather customers to take advantage of the ability to use snow chains,” Wirth says a smirk.

The Ford Performance All-Wheel Drive fitted to Focus RS will take full advantage of these new winter tires; “Settings are completely driver-preference”, notes Wirth, “Customers are able to utilize all four drive modes to suit their driving style in winter conditions.”

Focus RS Winter Wheel & Tire Package is available only in North America -- a $1,995 option. For customers in Canada, the package comes standard on Focus RS.

Ford Focus RS UK allocation increase due to huge demand

http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/ford-focus-rs-uk-allocation-increases-due-huge-demand

pct_mwm_focus_rs_h7a5067_edit_2.jpg

The 4000 units available initially have sold out, but Ford is currently negotiating to bring around 1000 more cars into the UK

Autocar UK - 6 June 2016

The Ford Focus RS is in such demand in the UK that the car maker is looking to put an extra 1000 units on sale.

The initial allocation, believed to be around 4000 units, is already sold out but Ford is still taking orders and currently negotiating with other European markets to increase its production for the UK.

In order to offer more units to the UK, Ford must take some models away from other markets in Europe because its Germany plant is already at maximum capacity, but the manufacturer believes this will not be an issue.

Ford had, however, previously suggested that the first 4000 units would be the only ones available to the UK ? as was the case with previous Focus RS models ? but after unprecedented demand for an RS product, it is now rethinking its position.

Ford confirmed customers are still able to place an order for the Focus RS and that it wanted to make sure it could supply the demand from customers.

Its popularity has also resulted in an eight-month wait for deliveries of the car. Some buyers could face longer waits, however, with one Autocar reader who recently ordered a Focus RS being told by their local dealer to expect a wait of 12-14 months.

The rest of Europe will receive 4000 units ? as with the Mk2 Focus RS ? but Ford predicts North America to be its biggest single market, with close to 10,000 units already sold.

The UK has been the largest market for the previous Focus RS models, but Ford says it?s different for the new Mk 3 Focus RS because it?s the first time the car has been available globally. The new Mk3 has sold twice as many units as the Mk2 when compared with the same period in the UK.

Ford has enjoyed a surge in demand across its performance models in Europe, resulting in a six-month wait for the new Mustang.

COBB Tuning - Focus RS Baseline (301whp/340tq) and Stg1 (314whp/365tq) Tune

COBB cracks FoRS ECU and begins Stage 1 Tuning...

Great info mentioned within video with tips from Braden Berger on how to correctly prep and dyno the FoRS AWD!

"On the dyno with our Ford Focus RS. Baseline numbers and a Stage1 pull."

https://www.facebook.com/cobbtuning/videos/vb.120914804053/10154261777359054/?type=2&theater

DynoJet / 93 Octane / 92F Ambient / 4th gear pulls

Baseline: 301whp / 340tq

Stg1 (preliminary): 314whp / 365tq

"The IC blocking plate (which COBB removes) is designed to prevent excessive cooling for vehicles in "cold" climates. In these environments LSPI can become an issue and the car will limit power to prevent pre-ignition. We recommend removing this cover for anyone living in environments that are regularly above 50F."

"We've run the car several times back-to-back and have had no reduction in power. Each time, the overboost timer was under the limit."

- Braden Berger (COBB Reverse Engineer / Lead Calibrator)

2016 Focus RS Production Canceled, Remaining Orders Added to 2017 Run

R&T - 7/28/2016

http://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/news/a30138/ford-cancels-2016-focus-rs-prodution/

Reports say that 220 customers have had their 2016 Ford Focus RS canceled, to be replaced by a 2017 model.

The Ford Focus RS might just be the hottest mass-market enthusiast car of the year, and if you're a frequent reader of this site, there's a very good chance you want one. Unfortunately, it seems Ford won't be able to meet the initial demand. As a result, many customers now fear that their cars will be delayed.

Ford cancelled 220 orders for the 2016 model year Focus RS, bumping them to the 2017 model year run, according to a report from The Truth About Cars . There's no clear answer as to precisely why model-year 2016 production has been halted, though it seems to be related to a summer shutdown at Ford's plant in Saarlouis, Germany, where the Focus RS is built.

A Ford representative reportedly told a Los Angeles dealer that the reason for the shutdown was "economic turmoil" in Europe, though a different Ford spokesperson denied this in correspondence with TTAC.

"Focus RS demand around the globe has exceeded expectations," Ford representative Dan Jones told TTAC. "These 220 customer units that were scheduled for [model year 2016] are now going to be rescheduled into [model year 2017], and as these orders will be prioritized, customers will experience almost no delay in delivery of their vehicle."

Jones told TTAC that workers at the Saarlouis plant have a scheduled three-week holiday, which ends August 15th. Despite Jones's reassurance, TTAC also notes that various members on Ford enthusiast forums are worried that their cars will be delayed significantly. Some Australian RS buyers have already reported delays.

Since the Focus RS is a car long awaited by enthusiasts, it's likely received far more pre-orders than most run-of-the-mill Fords. High demand, plus the amount of attention the Focus RS continues to receive, plus the unclear reasoning behind Ford's model-year switch, is certainly adding up to some anxiety among those excitedly awaiting the delivery of their new Ford hot hatch.

IF they could ever build enough of them, how many more units sold would it take to beat STI sales in the U.S. for this car??
