300+hp, AWD, possible 6spd, American-made hatch? Pinch me.

Would love to see Cosworth or AMS get their hands on this lil beast if all this really comes to fruition.

I have considered some pretty crazy projects and built some not so crazy but intense ones, I just thought of finding a rolled one someday and drop a Fiesta body on it....that would be a huge project to say the least.....

Bingo, technically the Fiesta ST is considered part of Ford Germany. At least from what ive read, oddly enough the next Civic Type R COULD be American Made.

Crazy times when our favorite car is made by a former Axis power, and its competition may be made in America by a former Axis power.

No reason to bring that up, im just a huge WWII buff, everything about that time in history fascinates me.

I was referring to the not so great bottom end response tuning on the EU GTX and EFR, if the same EU ECU is used on the cars if built there it could be an issue;)

There won't be an issue. Ford is designing this with performance and enthusiasts in mind. They want the publicity, not a bunch of people complaining about tuning difficulty like the Dodge community. The overseas models don't have a problem with getting tuning, they just have to tune differently.

Thanks that is good to hear.

Have you seen the thread with the dyno and VD plots of the EFR and GXT on Fiesta's over there?

The bottom end sucks on them but Matt at Panda sent me one from a GTX he recently tuned and it is far better, it is on the thread as well.

Speculation has been they cannot tune as well for some reason(s).

More Leaks....

http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/02/2016-ford-focus-rs-leaks-ahead-of-official-debut.html

"As for the torque-vectoring all-wheel drive system, the Focus RS is reportedly able to send up to 70 percent of power to the rear wheels. While the drivetrain and powertrain specifications are unconfirmed, we do know exactly how the Focus RS will look now with a large rear spoiler, more aggressive bumpers and stylish wheels.

Rumored pricing for the new Focus RS is $37,850."

Rumors are swirling that Ford has been hiding a second RS vehicle that will be unveiled tomorrow along with the Focus RS. ;)

I hope your right. I would love to see a AWD Fiesta RS.....under 3000lbs with 250hp 0-60 in the low 4s. A (REAL) entry level affordable factory rally car in the states. That would be sooo much win for Ford.

Yeah it crashed immediately. Guess we'll have to find a live blogger who is at the event...
