The question is.... Can honda build a turbo motor that doesn't come apart with abuse? Their NA motors are as hard as a coffin nail UNTIL you add boost.

Ummmm The k-series is a tough engine. 500whp on stock internals. The F20c made up to 700whp on stock internals.

Making the power and making the power and staying together are two different things. SRT4 guys have said stock srt4 motors are good for 450-500whp, but the "*" has always been "for how long".

If you have the money to run a motor on race fuel and don't daily beat it with miles ( aka its a track car or 2 times a month type car ), then lots of motors can handle lots of power.

That being said... Back when I cared, we had a lot of guys coming out with turbo K-series motors claiming big power on stock motors. The heads certainly flow well enough for it. Of course.... 2 weeks laters, 2 of the 3 cars making big power were being pulled apart with rod bearing issues. The 3rd car actually never materialized on the street, lol. Weight of the car has alot to do with it too. If its a 1850lbs crx with a turbo K-series, HELL YEA, lol. But a 2700# RSX is a totally different load.

Anyway, just saying honda hasn't really produced a 4G63, srt4, type motor in masses.

I bet an SRT4 motor that never saw almost any street driving, C16 fuel, and a 2500lbs car with a stand-alone EMS, it could prob do 600-700-800-900hp. For how long? Until it gets that FIRST hint of knock.

Didn't mean to be negative. My first turbo car was a 89' civic hatchback i built a turbo kit for. I owned a 90' crx Si and that car had almost everything to do with me buying the fist ( slow can be amazingly fun ). I've done H-series swaps, b-series swaps, and built a couple single cams using misc stock type parts. I like hondas, and I REALLY HOPE THE NEW R DOES NOT DISAPPOINT. Much the way I felt when the mazda speed 3 came out, i hoped it would take the crown for the srt4. I was disappointed. I hope the civic really kicks butt, shouldn't be too hard to beat the focus. They need to earth-dreams turbo a Fit !!!

^ add some juice to the Fit and make some real power? Maybe K20...nawwww that would make too much sense for Honda these days lol, make a real CRX replacement?... Nawww lets make more hybrids slow turds...Honda thought process these days. When your most exciting car is the Accord V6 stick, granted its a nice car/motor combo its kind of sad for what Honda used to be :(

A factory 2.4L turbo Si motor? YES PLEASE !!! We have to admit, the civic Si is more or less as fast or faster stock vs stock to a focus ST. All while the honda is in vacuum. Now imagine 15psi and DFI !! Holy cow... It would be an animal. But yea... Honda isn't going to do anything epic, just like toyoda isn't.

Wonder how many fiesta SFe's, focus sports and focus SFe's will be be sold because the focus and fiesta ST exist...

Hoe many GS model eclipses were sold because of the GS-T and GS-X ? A f-ing HUGE AMOUNT. That was prob the most ultimate "bait and switch" car of all times !!

Anyone been to a scion dealer to see an XA or a yaris ? Anyone been into a honda dealer to see a fit or crz ? Heck no !!! Now ... If there was a 212hp yaris, would you at least test drive it? Go sit in it? If there was a 199hp fit, would you go test drive it? Sit in it? If you didn't already have a fist, could you be convinced to buy one? We'll never know, they are tol busy stamping out bland camerys, and under powered fits/yaris's.

Those two had the performance world in the palm of there hand , and pretty much completely turned their back on us. I'm happy ford adopted us :)

I have wondered for years where the rest of the "sport" was in the Fit Sport.......low fuel mileage at least in the prior models and no where near enough even NA power but a great little car.

I did drive a Sonic RS when shopping for a small project car to carry in our toyhauler trailer, about 5 minutes, it was awful.....

Honda, nothing to go see.

Hyundai, their smallest car, forgot the name, turbo was not out yet, a bit to heavy it seems but also to long for the trailers 14' garage.

Veloster, no room for the dogs, funky looking, not impressed with the handling or overall driving experience.

Suby/Scion clone, lots to like except no room for the dogs and the engine, not a fan of the boxer....no boost except add on.....

Focus ST, luckily to big for the trailer and to heavy, my wife liked it much more than I did or do.

No FiST around to test so I put it on hold for some time then in CA I had a change to drive one, bought it, put it in the trailer in NV and brought it home and still in love with it:)

AWD or not, I will take a fun modded Fist over a Focus RS any day.

Ill always have a soft spot for the fit, if they made like a Fit Type R with a turbo 1.6, 1.8, 2.0. I would be so game. Maybe not after the remodel, but pre-remodel it was a pretty car that just spoke to me.

If Honda had even half the brain, they would have dropped a K20 or K24 into the Fit, firmed up the suspension a bit, and had a near class leading FiST, Cooper S, Abarth, Juke, Veloster Turbo competitor instantly. The ultimate part-bin special!

I absolutely agree, put some power and a bit more suspension, brakes, etc, into the Fit and it would be an incredible little car.

I was looking into buying and boosting or swapping a Fit but my wife said no, she did not care for it, liked the FoST better but it would not fit our needs. She was OK with the Fist when we bought it but now loves it and a bit protective of it as in not wanting me to take a chance driving it in the snow....but I can do any mod I want:)

2016 Focus RS - New Renderings

http://www.topspeed.com/cars/ford/2016-ford-focus-rs-ar124726.html

"Based on the recent spy shots, we created a rendering for the new Focus RS, which is rumored to be unveiled next week at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show."

ford-focus-rs 2.jpg

"We expect the future Focus RS to come to the U.S. as a four-door hatch, much like the ST. Larger wheels wrapped in fat, low-profile tires, an updated grille, larger intakes with fog lamps fitted within, air outlets and intakes on the sides, plus RS badging will make it different from the standard Focus hatch. The RS will also receive a redesigned front splitter, black mirror caps and roof, and a large roof spoiler, all of which are visible in our rendering above".

I think that is going to be the most accurate rendering so far.

My birthday is monday, so i hope I get the release of a 330hp focus RS awd from ford !!! Even if I can't afford one myself. 340 or 350 hp would work too :)

With the golf R announced, I'm not sure I'm ok with 300hp ( again on a car i can't have, lol ).

I can't believe it's 5 doors. I know it's their family hatch but surely they can give us a 3 door option.

First Look at the New RS: Driven by Ken Block

http://jalopnik.com/the-2015-ford-focus-rs-is-a-crazy-sliding-beast-and-wil-1680862706

Preview: All-New Ford Focus RS | Reveal 3 February 2015

For a teaser video, this actually shows off quite a lot of the car. What can we tell? Well, Ford has made it far more aggressive looking than even the ST, with bigger wings, bigger wheels and tires, bigger ducts, bigger vents, and bigger balls required to drive it.

The video is short on tech details, but what we can tell is that the RS has a propensity for sliding tom foolery. Now, does that mean it's all-wheel drive? Some of us think so, while others think that it has one of Ford's famously complicated front diffs, like the RevoKnuckle, that enable sliding that a front wheel drive car shouldn't be able to do. And with power that is expected to be north of 300, it'll definitely need a trick diff, or else it'll be breaking your arms under acceleration.

It should also be noted that the driver here is none other than Kenneth Blockenstein. We're sure of this because he instagrammed it, and Instagram is the blog of public record.

I'll know for sure on February 3, because that's the day Ford has chosen to unveil the rally monster to the world.
