Thurs 5/26 thru Mon 5/30

Current build here: https://www.fiestastforum.com/threads/fistys-bolt-on-bonanza.26642/

My first run was at approximately 11:30 pm on 5/26 in the pouring rain (at the tail of an 8hr road trip). Suffice to say, I took it easy. Pitch black and dumping buckets, the euro projectors and diode dynamics fogs provided excellent visibility (kept em on every run thereafter for safety). Limiting factor (with standing water) was tires... but in their defense, they were the star the remainder of the trip (in the dry). These RT660's were indeed like a cat on carpet (I'm sure trac/trunk bars helped too). As for tune, I decided to run Mountune 93, no access to E85 and I like the predictability (perhaps conservativeness) it offers. I made several runs every day. Friday was cool, she absolutely screamed through those curves, pulling me out of every corner with frightening vigor (mostly chasing redline in 2nd and 3rd)... those EBC pads held up to the punishment stopping on a dime (original brakes/fluid). Loud satisfying pops from the exhaust and whooshes from the bov. How did it go? Well, I was only bullied by some modded out bmw sport bike (guessing R nineT) with what I swear was a professional rider. Otherwise, I was pushing about everything else through there... muscle cars, vettes, scores of Subarus, hogs, crotch rockets. Of TOD's 300+ turns, roughly 10% had me 3-wheeling. We hit the skyway and other nearby twistys too. My wife rode shotgun for all of it... said it was a killer core/delt workout... caught a few bruises from getting thrown around... and has threatened to tell everyone I 'beat her with my FiST' 🤣. Sunday was a bit warm (high 80's low 90's) and while she never overheated I could smell it wasn't far off by the end of 11 miles running so near red. I'll be earmarking spend for radiator and seats/harness accordingly. We're planning to go back down in October. We stayed off Moonshiner 28 (Fontana Village Resort) which offers plenty of fun turns and typically lower traffic (more opportunity to play). Some of the best fun I've ever had behind the wheel... highly recommend the trip!

Love the TOTD......40 miles away. Last run I watched my wife in her Mustang GT/CS Coyote auto set at Sport + mode with the exhaust sounding sweet as she walked away from my car. Her out of curve acceleration killing my stock FiST w/MP-215.

We love both cars but the delay in the GT's paddle shifters take a little anticipation for performance driving. She just uses horsepower and lets the tranny select the gears which in Sport + it does very well. The GT's brakes work nicely. First auto my wife has had in almost 30 years due to knee surgery. For its use as a high performance touring car the GT 10 speed auto is fantastic. If Fifi died tomorrow I would get a 6 speed GT for me. Still Ford addicted........but I like 3 pedals.

OMG, to be so close. I imagine it would be great fun in a GT. My wife is currently looking to dump her Wrangler for a JCW convertible (caught the little car bug thanks to the FiST). I imagine that'll be a riot too.
