So the tip did help quite a bit but still pretty loud... it looks good but may eventually change mufflers. As far as the traction bar, I jacked up one side of the car and the damn jack gets in the way to get jack stands in place very easily, could be my buddy's big jack but he went under anyway real quick and tried to break the driver side bolt and said it was REALLY tight and recommends a shop, and he's done complete driveline stuff on AWD DSM's, he's just lazy but I'll need to figure out something later... I did manage to do the passenger side insert and bolt upgrade, definitely added quite a bit of vibes, far more than my RMM but definitely feels much better, didn't have time to do the driver side/trans mount insert, but at least I got one out of 3 things done today. :)

You have to slide the jack a little towards the front of the car from the spot where Ford tells you. I use a 3-ton steel jack from HF and it fits fine with jack stands. I'm not sure why so many people have trouble with those bolts...any decent breaker bar will get them loose. Hit it harder with your purse!

As for the exhaust, what muffler did you go with again? Any pictures/videos?

I saw pics where the jack goes in the spot on the side where the cutout goes and the jack stand goes in front of that behind the tire.... my buddy has some old pretty big jack, I know I'll be getting my own soon.... The muffler is an 18" MagnaFlow glasspack w/2.25" single in/out, #18125 and tip is a 9" resonated black DC Sports. I was gonna do a video but my buddy said he didn't want to drive it as not to want to want to buy one, whatever, but it's pretty loud when you get on it it good. I'll try to get a video soon... I'm impressed how one little round rubber piece as an insert really helped with the passenger side mount. I picked up a digital torque module you add to any wrench, pretty nifty and will come in handy as I do more stuff to the car.... Hopefully I can meet up with someone who knows this car better, my buddy is apparently too jaded from all his own car struggles and let his purse get in the way, hehe...

After telling the people at Landmark upfront that I needed my car back by 5pm and even offering to reschedule if they didn't think they could get the work done in time, I am being told that they will need it for at least another two hours to diagnose the problem (it is currently 6:05) and I will then need to bring the car back at least once more for the actual repair.

I'm back on it: fuck Landmark.

Ugh, not looking forward to dealing with them if I need warranty work, that blows.

Yeah, I came in and was like "I'd like this back by 5, I have to be somewhere at 6" and they said it could take a while. I asked for a loaner and they said no. I said I could push to 5:30 as I had a change of clothes with me and was like "Okay, I'll check in with you at 5:30. Please keep me posted. If you do not think we can get anything done in that time frame, let me know. Let's just do the diagnostic bit, and I'll be back by 5:30 to see where we are at. Don't start the repairs, I don't have time." I stopped back in to the service manager's office at 5:35 like [scratch] and she said "I don't know. I'll ask next time I go back there and let you know." At like, 6:05 she comes out and explains that they need a few more hours to diagnose the problem and I tell them I need to leave and ask for my car back disassembled so they can start back on it this week. I get the car back at 6:35.

This is for another sunroof leak, by the way.

Haven't been around on this thread for a while so to update my old posts, I got the traction bar in simply using ramps and a bought and returned HF impact wrench, but most importantly got the driver side/trans mount insert, TurboSmart EM VR2 plumb back DV, turbo inlet and crossover all in on my own... Took me more than 10 hours but that was because I didn't know the wipers simply needed to be manhandled off for cowl removal and all kinds of other little things I know now going forward. :)

Anyway, saw been seeing a white FiST in Hillsboro around Main/Brookwood, YOHB?

I took it in like two weeks later and got it fixed. My experience was fine the second time around but I saw a couple of people getting truly horrible treatment from the service managers and made some mental notes.

Ugh, nothing like getting your first actual speeding ticket in like 20 years to question your decision to be an auto enthusiast/own such a fun car to drive that is almost impossible to take it too easy with... I am fortunate to have mostly country back roads from my commute from SW Beaverton/NW Tigard to Hillsboro where it is mostly 55 roads... well I was coming home from work last night and in a hurry to get home to take my son to his choir concert... To avoid a 4 way stop that gets backed up, I make this left hand turn on to a nice wide and smooth 45 zone road that is fairly rural just outside Hillsboro and go down a mile and take a right. So I usually "test my peak boost through a full couple of gears" and end end up hitting a good 75 before I back off and coast to make my hard right on to another road, it's fairly routine, I have never seen a cop once in this area in the 10 months driving this route. Well, this time I actually took it a little easier and hit only 65 before backing off but right when I did I saw a motorcycle cop hidden on the right, boom, 61 in a 45. Cop was totally cool, big young dude with a full beard, Washington County sheriff. I can go to court and sign up for the online traffic school so it won't go on my record but it's also a $165 hit I really can't afford right now... And now I'm paranoid of getting another one and can't help but wonder if the people that live along there (houses not even close to the road) reported some guy doing this about the same time every day... I feel like a guilty dog with his tail between his legs with his feelers hurt, LOL!

Also, noticed a new black FiST bought from Dicks's in Hillsboro right before that and then again this morning with the temp sticker in the window... doubt they are on the forum but dude was flying about 55 is a 35 going the opposite direction as me on Brookwood, looks like he's realizing just how too fun these are to drive too slow too! LOL

That sucks, sorry man. I had something similar happen about a month ago. I dropped the hammer from a new four way stop, it was a nice dry cool day and I wanted to hear some whoosh sounds. The limit is 45 mph, and hit 60 pretty fast and after that I slowed down. Then I thought, man I should really check who's behind me before I do that (and then I actually did) and there was a county sheriff right behind me at the stop and they caught up at the next light, they followed me pretty much to my driveway a few miles away and just passed by as I pulled in. I got lucky that day.

Man, hate it when that happens, I was even using Waze but had no cop reports, dang it!

I know you won't see this. I would love a $165 fine with an online option that's fantastic. My last ticket cost me over $300 there's nothing you can do in this state except get it lowered to improper equipment with a attorney. That ticket with 7 years ago. The job I have now that's my biggest fear it's not the money, it's the fact a ticket can remove me from my position.

Welcome! I've never auto-crossed but would like to give it a try... you got the best one there is for AutoX, no sunroof but having Recaro's is kinda rare and the best way to go... We have another member here Xan who's sunroof starting leaking pretty close to new, any fun driving with this car and having sunroof apparently can cause enough flex to break seals or something... Anyway, with a '14 make sure that the recall has been done, easiest way to tell is if you have soft rubber hoses coming off your coolant tank you're good,if you have hard plastic lines coming off the coolant tank then make an appt to get it in for free, regardless of warranty... if you want general first hand advice on mods and such, I'd be happy to help, I got my '17 new 21 months ago and have learned a lot and done quite a few mods myself...

Hey, thanks for the heads up on the coolant tank lines, will check it out. I will have a dealer run the vin to see if there are any outstanding things that need done regardless.

Unfortunately (or fortunately?) I purchased this car for H-Street, which only allows tires/wheels (+/-1" in dia, stock width, +7mm offset), 1 sway bar (either front or rear), shocks, and catback... and that's it. No program, no CAI, no removing rear seats, no turbo, nothing. So it will stay as is.

A large part of picking up this car was make a relatively UN-intimidating introduction for new Autocross'ers, as well as go to nationals. If you want to check out autocross next season, let me know, you literally can sign up, bring your car as is, and have fun learning. The great thing about autocross is you can have a passenger with you, early on its an experienced person that will help you learn the course and how to go faster.

I would love to check out your car sometime, things like lights can be done, so that maybe the only area I can play with.

Hmmm, I do know the first 3 model years had stiffer shocks/struts but also thinner front sway and rear torsion beam than the last 3 model years... if you are allowed to add one sway bar you could add one to the rear since the front already has one... Cat back doesn't even help at all with our tiny stock turbo, believe it or not, unlike almost any other car its pretty much not a restriction whatsoever... But yeah, I would like to try it out next season and it would be cool to meet up sometime, there is the WORST (Western ORegon ST's) group that has meet ups for runs, etc., they have a group on FB you can follow if you want an invite to it... Mostly FoST guys but definitely some FiST's too and the FoST guy are cool about it and like our FiST's too, hehe...

And as far as actual safety recalls, there is just that one on all '14's and early '15's, so again, should be easy to tell by the coolant tank lines if it's been or not... Besides the change from hard plastic that can get brittle and break over to the soft rubber lines they also add an overheat sensor and lower 180 degree thermostat, which all are very much needed, as our radiators are terribly undersized to begin with... and too bad you can't swap out an intercooler as long as you don't tune, as that helps even with coolant temps some as well, I also personally use an oversized oil filter year round too, that seems to help a bit as well, as far as little things to help with temps, especially come summer.
