I hope they end up offering either a flat wrinkle or polish intake tube.

I'm assuming (hoping) that Cobb would probably release their CAI (below) this in a wrinkle black finish similar to their IC hardpipes.......

I doubt it will be much louder than the stock box with a drop-in or mountune because it is still enclosed.
Agreed ...should be no real difference in sound over stock....which I'd be very pleased with....

I'm guessing you don't have this installed yet although it's in your signature?
I only have the Cobb flat filter installed...note that my signature says "near future mod plans" as having a Cobb CAI... hopefully very near future will become one of my current performance mods added ;)

Oh okay. So you don't have a full intake system? Just that top part?

And is Cobb's a cold air intake or regular intake?

Just the Cobb flat panel filter for now....

And Cobb's intake uses a cone filter in an enclosed airbox (hopefully not a metal box) along with using the stock ducting to draw air in from outside of the engine bay unlike many of the short ram intakes currently available ....

You're making it sound as if it's sealed in to the lower part of the factory air box. Am I understanding you right?

Cobb's conical filter will be enclosed which takes advantage of the stock airbox and ducting...
