I have a nearly stock 2019 Fiesta ST that has an MBRP exhaust on it that I find annoying. The car had only 24k on it when I bought it so the aftermarket exhaust puzzled me. I have never heard an ST with a stock exhaust ! (I have a Thermal RD 3” exhaust on my modded ST and like it but would like something mellower for the stocker). This car will probably never need a larger exhaust. Unfortunately, piecing together a new stock exhaust is ridiculously expensive and I have no idea whether it would be any “better” (mellower ? Less “droney” ?). There are a few used stock ones around in decent shape But not sure if it’s worth the effort. Thoughts ?

The stock exhaust is way quieter than any aftermarket exhaust. It's very pleasant. none of the aftermarket exhausts provide any performance improvement over the stock on an unmodified car. If you can pick up an undamaged used exhaust from someone who took it off because they wanted a noisemaker, it would be worthwhile. And you might be able to find someone to sell the MBRP to.

I like mine with the stock exhaust. The engine sounds good without any added exhaust noise to overpower it. It’s enjoyable like a motorcycle where you really hear the intake sounds.

Thank you. That is what I suspected. Too bad a new one is so rIdiculous. I even tried AutoNation Ford White Bear Lake who often sold me GT350 parts well below other Ford dealers but no luck with the ST.

lots of folks run exhausts. I’m surprised you can’t find a used one nearby. I have an extremely low mileage stock exhaust for a 2004-2007 CTS-V if that helps you out at all.
