Drop in or Full intake?

After researching various forums I cannot come up with a legit reason to buy a full intake. The drop in seems to do a better job at keeping IAT's down and is a sealed unit. I know that there is a intake box mod that can be done but until significant upgrades are done is there any reason to buy the intake?

I think it's cutting holes in the lower box to let more air in.

And as others have said there really isn't much need for an intake other than the sound and to be able to say you have one.

The cobb intake should do well with keeping the AIT down.. but then again they havent released it so who knows...

I used a dremel and cut the bottom out of mine.

I think the hardpipe to the turbo helps, too. If you combined a modded airbox and redid the intake over to the turbo inlet, you'll get the gains you're looking for.

Also, the Cobb intake utilizes the lower airbox, combining the benefits of a sealed airbox intake and the high flow induction tube for what I think will be the best solution.
