I only drive my ST in summer. Well now the DMV is shut down so I can't move my license plate to it. The gas will be getting stale. And of course I filled up before parking it to minimize condensation, etc. So any idea to best way to drain it? (Or how many hours of idling is required)
i would have needed to stabilize it last fall. sat for like 8 months so far. I know from experience that 6 months is no problem but like 2 years is definitely bad- not sure between. Don't wanna find out.
Hotwire the fuel pump under the back seat and plumb it into a jerrycan. There are threads about adding a flexfuel sensor in that location to give you an idea. Need some hose, clamps & tools.
If you're that whipped up about it. Just get some Stabil or Starbrite treatment. then pour the correct amount in according to the directions. Start vehicle ....let run for 5-10 min. Turn off vehicle ....go back into house and drink a beer. Don't get all worked up over it if you didn't....you will be fine. Like I said if you want get one of these to calm yourself. Good luck
Pull line, turn on car. Let the pump do the work. Or get a jerry can with a gallon of fresh fuel and dump it in. I didnt put stabil in my mower, and that fired right up after sitting all winter from just a slpash of fresh 91
I wonder if using the refill funnel will allow you to snake a nylon line into the tank. If so that might be an alternative. BTW, from my years as a boat owner I still have the vacuum tank I used to drain the oil on my boat. There have been a few occasions when I've used it to draw a gallon or so from my car to put in the mower.

This. 8 months is a long time, but the gas isn't bad. You can drive it as is. I'm presuming you used premium gas, which has more additives and stays more stable over time.
If it doesn't run well, pour the recommended ounces into the tank, and let it sit for a day, then try again. I'm guessing you can just drive it now and it'll run just fine.
