Doesn't feel the same any more :/

Hey everyone,

My fiesta st just doesn't feel the same as it used to. The whole "Mad shove into your seat" thing has sorta faded. I have another way of testing the performance of my car and it has sorta lost that as well :/

I had an Autospecialists kit on my car which had a K&N filter and I am worried that it may have caused problems with the MAF possibly??

Any other ideas guys on what could be causing this slight performance loss?

Thanks, Jack

Probably got used to it. other wise the element is crap/plugged? any check engine lights? You messed with anything else even so much as removed a charge pipe?

No check engine lights. The origional filter box and filter is back on now tbh. Im tempted for a pannel filter.
Tbh I forgot what octane I am on atm tbf. Although I almost exclusivly run it on momentum 99 octane. So could be that I am on esso fuel now I think.
I am going to have a look at the boos pipes today I think. See if they are all good.
The only other thing I did was plug up that noise pipe that goes into the car but I dont see how that could have caused a problem :/

Just checked boost pipes. I could tighten 4 of the 6 joints i found using a socket and 2 fingers. They were very loose tbf. Sprcially the ones right on the turbo outlet and just after the metal pipe from the turbo outlet.

Yeahh :) there are 3 joints that I couldn't get to very easily so will get them checked when I can as well.
And yeah tbf it would be worth checking as I have heard someone else mention it somewhere as well.

I have the same problem. I need to get out there and check. I did a cursory glance underneath the car and everything LOOKED good, but well......hoses and clamps are finnicky. Glad you got yours fixed! Hope mine is as simple. I'm reading horror stories of people having leaks and overspinning the turbo, grenading it. I like to scare myself apparently lol.

Haha thats what I was thinking about the RPM of the turbo :/ would go a lot higher with a boost leak meaning the wastegate doesnt open :/

Man, I need tools. I went out there thinking I had my socket set, only to find screwdrivers. Lame. I tightened up my intake pipes just a little bit, and the passengers side IC pipes to where the metal duct is between the turbo and the IC pipe. Weird setup down here...... I NEED TOOOOOOOLS

Yeah to be fair it does seem like a strange setup and the pipes are really small looking but it must work haha :)

Harbor Frieght is your friend. Cheap ass tools, with lifetime warranties on some of their stuff.

I found my sockets. My wife hid them in my daughters room closet for some reason 😊 so I got under the car and tightened up the clamps on the metal pipe from the turbo, and the clamps on the ic and intake where my hands could actually fit. Took her for a spin, and at first, it acted largely the same. Right before I turned onto my street I dropped into second and gave her a good throttle punch, immediate boost, pushed me back and my chair and sounded oh so sexy. I'm guessing he computer had to relearn after it started seeing real boost? FEELS SO GOOD!!!

Tighten your pipes everyone 😊

Cheap tools are rarely the bargain they seem to be.
Haha ya true for the most part. I guess I have just been lucky so far. One of the best tools I ever bought was from Harbor Frieght for like $20. Flex head ratchet wrenches, I cant tell you how much easier those made my life when swapping to a GT3076R on my speed6 lol.

I see your from Oxnard, thats my home town! Hoping to be back out there this Fall.
