I see lots of posts about adding custom gauges. Now you can add up to 6, change them any time you want, and make no changes to your car tot do it. Total elapsed time (including learning the software) was about 10 minutes.

Requirements
- Sync 3 V2.3+
- Android Phone
- Android Auto
- OBD2 Scanner (I got this one for $8 on sale https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C6CZ0SQ/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1)
- TorquePro
- OBD2AA (https://forum.xda-developers.com/general/paid-software/app-obd2-plugin-android-auto-torque-t3657805)

Instructions are on the OBD2AA page. It displays up to 6 gauges using PIDs pulled from the scan tool. I have mine running Boost, Oil Temp, Coolant Temp, Volts, Wheel HP. And it all displays on Sync 3 with minimal theatrics. This is awesome.

I would recommend a obdlink mx or wifi or a corded elm327 obdii device with a switch so you can do all the other amazing things without buying more then one device

It starts with torque then you want to do more.

Here is a youtube video of the display on Sync. There are a few gauge types and layouts. You can have up to 6 gauges. You need to set the ranges of the gauges, and where the warning colors come in. That takes a bit of tweaking. I knew it was perfect when my my wife called me an engineering dork.

As of 16.02.2018 Google started rolling out Android Auto 3.0 which disables any 3rd party app.

Is there any solution other then downgrading?
- Solution expected to be available in first week of March, however it will require you to have access to a PC/Mac!
Hope a fix is released that wont involve downgrading.

My Android Auto hadn't updated to 3.0 yet. Check yours. I am at 2.9.57xxxxx. I set it to not auto update at this time. Works great.

So I have both a cheap BT and corded OBD dongles, the cheapie BT works fine, I suppose I can just use the corded one for laptop tuning stuff? Otherwise I think I can just get my gauges over to AA easily after I just bought the OBD2 AA app for $1.99, already had Torque Pro for use with my previous car but had to display the gauges from my mounted phone... Thanks for the tips!

Here is a pic. I have been playing with what to display, but boost is front and center.
So can't figure out how to get the gauges to show anything but 0.0... I see where you have to configure OBDII software but all the gauges are just blank... Do I have to manually write down the PID info and enter into OBDII gauge section? I don't get it, the gauges show all 0's but Torque on my phone shows the live data.

I assume you mean in the car, and not in the preview.

1) Is Torque Pro installed on your phone?
2) Does it connect to the OBD reader?
3) In the OBD2AA app, you don't neet to manually type the PID. Tap the PID line in the gauge, and a list should populate. Select from the list. Gauge ranges will be set by the min/max that will be returned for the PID.
4) Int the OBD2AA Preferences, make sure Demo Mode is not checked. The only prefernces I have enabled are:
- Auto start
- Low fuel warning

Everything else in unchecked.

I have found some that only report zero, like Engine Oil Temp. I have had luck with Boost Pressure, Voltage, Coolant Temp, Torque, and HP. The Torque and HP seem too low so I wonder if the units are correct.

Didn't see a list populate, let me go and try again after a full power cycle... Thanks for the tips, much appreciated!

Correct the bt should work as long as it works with torque and hopefully your USB one will work for forscan to make some software changed just flipping bits to turn on or off features.

If you know how to use your usb and laptop to alter your tune that is more then I can do on my Taurus and have no experience with that.

OK, figured out how to choose the gauge by actually clicking in the PID field, and the names show up on the screen, AND Torque shows live values, but no values on the screen! UGH... Not even boost!

Been a few years since I had a Ford, I remember some Russian software that allowed you go in and change things on or off, but I can't even get the Torque data to show up on the screen gauges... Gauges work and respond to changes in OBD2 and Torque Pro is showing real-time data but not on the screen... And I thought I was the computer nerd who figured out to do a custom Sync3 update... dang it! LOL

So does anyone know why I would get the gauges on my car screen, including changes to when I change what PID's are shown, AND I get live data in Torque, but I get only 0's for my gauges on the car screen? I feel like I wasted my money on the OBD2 AA app if it can't even send data to my car screen, I could have re-used my CD slot car mount for my phone and just have the gauges there all along...

I'd suggest an email to the developer. Works great for me.

One more thing to check. Are you using Android auto 2.9 or 3.0. says on the dev site that it doesn't yet work with 3.0
