Thread is old, but I will reply for anyone else looking. I've been working with Vinyl since 2011 and have been wrapping cars in garage a few times. You must research videos and tips in YouTube and you will find right ways and wrong ways. It's best to educate yourself first and foremost.
It cost $700 for the vinyl for my daughters 12' Stang GT 5.0 and $620 to wrap son in laws Fiero. Depends whom you get it through. Cheaper means less durability upon stretch and leaving the heat / stretch markings. I prefer 3M or Avery. Have tools ready and as always I suggest another set of hands. Heat gun can be your friend and enemy all in one. Use it sparingly. If you can have 2 sets of extra hands makes it even easier and faster. 2 hold sides out, 3rd heats gently and start at highest point and start working your way outwards like a astrik pattern.
If you go with cheap vinyl, it won't take much to tear at corners if you need to stretch at all.
Be cautious ⚠️ of cuts. Cut far out first then after all is laid, then trim as you tuck up. Try not to put to much pressure during install in case you need to pull it back up from the car until set in place. Then and only then, run heat over gently and easily go over every inch to make sure every bit adheres. Now, if you get a tiny bubble and everything else is laid down, don't fret and start trying to adhere pressure cuz it will only fold on you. Just poke it with a pin head then apply a dab of heat and watch it adhere.
Remember, taking time to prep is the least fun thing to do and people get in a rush to start adhering, but it's crucial to have a clean surface. Good luck. If any other questions, feel free to ask. ✌️🫶
