Considering FiST

Hey Guys!

Considering a FiST, molten orange, stripes, and painted wheels/calipers. I currently drive a 13 Focus SE HB, tuxedo black, SYNC. I'm hoping to get in and test drive one today. If I go ahead with it, I'm anticipating having to order from the factory. What was the deposit like to get the ball rolling? Anyone here already switch from a Focus to the FiST? What are your thoughts?

Thanks!

Bill

There are a few of us here that went from owning a Focus. I have a 2000 and 2012 Focus...size wise the FiST is closer to the first gen Focus and crampier in the rear than the third gen Focus. Everything else about the FiST is much better over the Focus. My dealer charged a $500 deposit to order the car.

I went from an '04 Focus SVT, to an '10 MazdaSpeed3, to the '14 FiST. I can easily say the FiST has been the most fun out of the 3. IMO, at least.

Drove one. Liked it A LOT. Just trying to decide what I want to do now. I asked if I could still order one, but I was there kind of late so the salesman was going to have to ask about ordering from the factory when he gets in tomorrow. How do you guys feel about the racing stripes? I'm not sold on the Molten orange either. I like it in some of the pics I see, but it looks a little too pastel in some of the other pics. Of course the dealer didn't have one in Molten.

I think if you were going to do racing stripes, molten orange is the best color to do it with as it makes the stripes stand out more.

As for ordering, I ordered on 06 December and my car was just built this week. I am a special case and probably won't have the vehicle for another 2 months. For me, it is worth having exactly what I want and not compromising for the black ST with no options and cloth seats that my dealer had. Point is though, if you need a car right away, ordering through Ford is not going to work.

I have the molten orange one and she look fantastic!

The color comes alive in the sun, you won't be able to stop looking at it. I got the dark wheels too and it compliments the paint really nicely.

Are you planning on getting the Recaro's too? Personally, I think they make the car!

Good luck with your shopping

Thanks for the replies everyone! I've decided on Oxford White with the painted wheels and cloth seats. My salesman is working on finding one still, so I'll be waiting for a bit. I know there is one on order from another dealer near here, but it hasn't been built yet and we don't know if it is spoken for or not. Lot's of unknowns still. Haha.

I didn't always like the way the orange looked. Sometimes liked it, sometimes I didn't. I've liked the white for a long time though. I've thought I should've gotten white on my focus after I bought it. I like the way the black accents stick out on the white. The painted wheels and calipers looks they'll be a nice touch too. The Recaro's were alright, but I wasn't crazy about them, so I stuck with the cloth seats.

Looking forward to doing some fun driving!!

Nice, take a look on www.cars.com to see if there are any white ones in your area which your dealer may be able to do a trade.

Yeah. I've been looking through the cars.com sight. There are a lot of black and silver and even more with moonroofs and recaros. Haha. I had a leaky moonroof in a previous car and am not really interested in having it. It's nice, but I'd rather have the solid top. The recaros are just ok I thought. Hard to believe it'd be this hard to find a white car with almost no options on it! I'm excited and hopeful though. At worst we order it. My salesman indicated we could still get it ordered if necessary. It just has to be ordered soon and is going to take up to 12 weeks or so. I've dealt with him before. He does a good job.

I also must say, this forum is much more enjoyable than the Focus Forum I'm on. Much more supportive and positive and fun. The members on the focus forum troll super hard and have a lot of complaining to do. Thanks for being fun!

Trying to find a base white was impossible by me. Ended up ordering. Very few white ones out there it seems. There actually was a white with Rado but I couldn't see spending 375$ on painted rims. For 100$ more you can get a nice set off tire rack.

There is a thread out there about ordering dates for 2014 and I think the last orders were end of February per the thread. Then 2015 orders start I think later this month but production not until June? Not 100% on that time frame but someone had posted the dates.

8 to 12 weeks? So the dealer isn't being trueful with 4 to 6? Does having a A plan make a difference?
It may make a difference but most dealers are overly optimistic.. I think the best order to build/deliver date way a little over 9 weeks .. they are just not in a hurry to build these cars it seems and thats a shame for us that want them.. But suffice to say the car is WORTH every minute of waiting ... It is just that much fun ...
What did you order if you have ordered that is ??

I got mine in 9 and it might have been the fastest order of anyone here. It will take at least a week in transport, longer if you are further away from a central train line. Good luck, they all come eventually. :)
