Cobb vs Mountune CBE? Fswerks?

Had my FSWerks system for about 8yrs and I'm perfectly happy with it. No droning at any speed and no other problems.

Not that I recall. It gets louder when it's on boost. But not anything that I would find annoying.
Everyone's tolerance is different and drone is somewhat subjective, but I would think anyone that's done exhaust mods would say Cobb is definitely more on the "peaceful" side of the fence.

'peaceful' is a low bar with this car since any kind of muffler/res delete has GOBS of drone. The Cobb in comparison to those definitely has far less drone, but it's still there (especially when compared to stock). There's a very distinct resonance from 3k to 3.8k or so.. Just disappointed since Cobb says '0 drone' on their site for this exhaust.. I should've listened to my gut and just gone with the Thermal R&D (has a resonated midpipe), but wanted to 'go local' (Surgeline) and support a local shop (which I haven't heard back from and I emailed them a week ago)..

The FSWerks has a non-resonated mid-pipe (like the Cobb), so I bet it still has that slight drone from 3k to 3.8k and you just have a higher tolerance for it. I'm just more upset at the '0 drone' claims from Cobb when it clearly has drone, lol. Maybe their tester was in a muffler/res delete car and that's what he compared it to, lol.

You make a good point here. I believe that almost all aftermarket exhausts have some drone despite what they say, and it just depends on whether that amount is within your tolerance.
I have a fairly low tolerance for noise so an exhaust that wouldn't bother someone else would be more likely to bother me. I think the only completely safe way to know is if anyone is fortunate to have a local owner that has a particular exhaust they are interested in and will let them ride in their car, then they will know firsthand.

I think the Thermal R&D would work best since it does have a resonated mid-pipe and still has non-tune related burbles (at least from what I can see on YouTube, lol). Just dont feel like dropping that much more money into the exhaust setup lol (and subsequent hassle of selling the Cobb CBE).. Maybe the Cobb will get better once more carbon builds up in it ('break in').. I suppose I could consult with my local exhaust shop and see what they think about installing a resonator in the Cobb mid-pipe.. Lean on their 'expertise' on which kind of resonator to get.
