As a father of 3, two of which are twins as well as a fourth OTW, I know how hard it can be to find wrench time. So for posting this enormous amount of referential information and photos, huge kudos and respect, and:

How boring is the stock turbo stage 3 compared to the cyborg? Russell is going to get mine on Monday or Tuesday. I'm dropping off the car to him Monday. Will be tuned on 93 first, and then E30 tuned for maximum power. Hah. Can't wait to give you a review man!

Honestly because of a lot of factors in tuning, it would be un-fair to say. Losing 70-90whp ( or nearly 30% ) is always going to hurt in a 2700~2800lbs car.

I'm just driving around on 93oct now getting throttle closures and no meth injection and happy to have the car back, lol.

But as always... I have something up my sleeve :)

Are you still doing the stock turbo upgrades?

Edit: Sorry, I haven't been on much in a long time. [wink]
Yes sir :)
Shipped one out yesterday ( internal ) and one going to today or maybe tomorrow ( if the dang exhaust manifold gaskets would show up ), external.

Between everything, my car, and customer setups ( and mostly being sick ), I've been a busy guy lately. Which I'm thankful to be so busy.

Cyborg Upgraded Stock Turbocharger System

If your willing to either forgo the port work OR port the manifold and turbine housing yourself, I'm selling base kits with a REAL big inlet and cyborg turbo for $1000.00 shipped with a $200 core charge.

No upgraded wastegate included, and no work. But still way cheaper than any other equal option ;)

Back on pg. 19, that zip tie mod, is it intended to restrict ballooning of the intercooler pipe?
Yes sir. I don't know if that rubber tube actually balloons or not. It was very common on old school 90's turbo cars. But its was more of one of those "well.... At a stand still on the project, what can I do while I wait on parts" type mods :) Can't hurt... Every single part but that one in the charge system is upgraded, so I figured I'd add it :)

Anyone looking for the next step could always send me a X37 and we could put the bigger compressor wheel in it... Best of both worlds... I'd do the first one for free.

How much more power could you extract from it?

Take the results you'd normally get from an X37 and add 15-25whp.

For free... Not much to loose. At least... For the first one to do it. It would be also be required that who ever does it post results on the forum, good or bad.

Guys make 300whp on E30 and 330whp on race gas.

No reason you couldn't make the same. Add meth injection like people should and fueling really is no issue at all...

Why wouldn't you purchase an X37 and try out the R&D 1st? I know knowing of turbo design, and I'm not throwing mud just curious. What might the larger compressor wheel offer, and if there is a "bad" result what might that look like?
