There is usually a belt attached to a motor which spins the drum. If you're lucky, it came off and needs to be reinstalled. If not, it needs to be replaced. I temporarily fixed one with the wife's pantyhose.

I was going to say... Probably a belt or burned out motor if it stopped spinning.

frankiefiesta How is the tuning going? How do you like the cyborg with EWG so far? I talked to Russell on saturday about your car, he told me about some impressive gains. Unfortunately for me, I cannot afford the quickspool kit anymore. But Fortunately for me, This turbo is made and with EWG. Soooo Next month I will placing my order, and hopefully when it comes in Russell will have time to install it and tune it for me. If I can get to the power levels your at. I will more than happy. Any videos? or anything you mind sharing?

Tuning with DHM is great. Both Ron and Russ are great guys. They always answer my questions without any sarcasm or attitude (something another tuner is good at). The revisions are fast, usually within 24 hours, sometimes quicker. I would recommend them for anyone in need of pro tuning.

The cyborg with EWG is pretty sweet. My goal when I originally bought the cyborg was 250hp. Well on 93 I was pretty much there, vdyno at 240-245hp. Now I'm tuning with e30, trying to get some more power out of the turbo. Hopefully we can. One thing I have noticed with e30 is my spool has increased a noticeable amount. Hitting peak boost at 3500rpms on e30 compared to 4000rpms on 93.

I don't have much to share yet, just some datalogs and vdynos. If you're interested PM me your email and I'll send you some. I'm sure Russ wouldn't mind if I shared with you since he does the work on your car.

I'll be hitting the drag strip this Friday if the weather holds (unfortunately looks like rain) might have to wait until the following Friday. Videos will be posted when me and a few other forum members go racing :)

Perfect! Exactly what I wanted to know. I just placed my order with SS to get mine. I am more excited than a damn little kid on Christmas. Wow, that is madness, Just the fuel increased that much spool! Wonderful. I will be getting tuned by Russell, and he will also be installing my kit for me as I have do not have room or tools to install it myself. I cannot wait to see the videos. I really just want to know how loud that waste gate is. haha. Thanks for posting so quick man. Very excited to see the results and get mine. Think you can break a 12 second?!?

If you're looking for extra stock turbo/manifold so you don't have any down time I am selling my stock turbo & manifold for $350.

The wastegate is loud but when you have a 2J intake & catless downpipe it doesn't get much louder lol.

I doubt I would be able to get into 12's. Sourskittle best time is 13.3 I think. I'm shooting for 13's this year, next year may bring a new set up if all the stars align in my favor, then I'll be in the 12's :)

haha. Love it! I appreciate the offer, but I am doing the core exchange. Just easier for now for me. I will probably hold onto my stock manifold and turbo JUST IN CASE. No?!? hmm, I am surprised honestly. When SS did his run he was not tuned as well, and had less mods then me and you. 13's will be easy to make for sure. Low low 13's or 12's would be perfect for daily driving ha. I will be at the track shortly after mine is tuned and all good to go.

With slicks.... I feel like 12's are pretty much a given if the car is tuned well and driven well.

Not saying that garentees you'll run 12's. But I personally would FULLY EXPECT 12s from my car on slicks, if not 12.70's.
Low end and mid-range can get you a pretty good ET with enough traction. Its the mph that we will have a hard time matching the big turbo guys with :)

On street tires? Lets just say your racing for fun because you're prob not going to freak anyone out with a 2.1+ 60ft time... Fwd ftl :(

But its still fun !!

Cyborg turbo, TBE, panda TR6 intercooler, drop in green filter.

Sounds like a plan to me! I don't have a set of slicks to run with, but I am sure the car will be tuned up quite nicely from Russ and will be quite fast enough. Ill do my best on my sticky streets tires once my kit comes in and Russ installs and tunes it.

I just switched to my summer tires today. Federal 595 rsr. Great tires for the money.

I'm hoping to get some 15's + slicks for the front later this summer.

Traction is normally improved with the cyborg, assuming your TRYING TO keep traction :)

I have no problem with traction as of yet. I still haven't gone racing.

While data logging the torque doesn't come on as sudden as a stock turbo, to me I seem to have increased traction from a roll

Well this is awesome news to me! I just got the tires, and would hate to not be able to use them very long. I only go to the drag strip once in a while, maybe 2-3 times a year at most, most of the time if I am having fun I am going from a roll. I do not do autocross or anything like that, not worth the money to me. ha. Thanks for the quick replys. and I am really looking forward to seeing those drag strip videos!

Cyborg Upgraded Stock Turbocharger System

Huge pic dump coming your way soon

Edit: Its a ton of pics. I'm hoping to do a break down of pics, descriptions, and somewhat instructions for people doing timing belts or cams.
I actually started a new thread and got about 2 paragraphs in with no pics and I fell asleep last night, lol.

These are my cams that came with the 3rd cylinder head. As you can see the "seals", as I thought they were called, are very damaged. It happened during shipping via the head bolts being left in the head. The bolts came up and mushed them.

Clean the head bolt holes with brake or parts cleaner and blow the holes out with compressed air

The bolts ship with oil on them to prevent rust. Clean it off before using them.

Nice new cylinder head gasket. Its MLS. Don't forget to remove the rags before you install the cylinder head, lol.

Cylinder head on the new gasket, cam beds.

Cams lightly torqued into place.

Million dollar snap-on digital torque wrench. I didn't really care when I asked the guys are the shop to use their torque wrench, I just wanted something accurate. But after using this torque wrench, its BAD ASS.

Digitally set your target torque angle and your ready to go !!

https://vimeo.com/163767500
Click on it and it should work.
This is a quick 10sec video of the torque wrench in action. The yellow LED's light up more and more you get closer and closer to your target. When you hit the target, the LEDs turn green and the handle vibrates !! If you over torque it, the lights turn red. Epic torque wrench.
