Good stuff SS. Can't wait to see what you can do.
Wish this was going on my car, lol. Its for Dusty/customer. He's got better hardware than me and is going to have it tuned by a pro ( in the flesh ).

The next core that came back, I was going to build one for me, but then the someone sent me money, so that one is spoken for as well, lol. Once I get caught up though, I'm going to do one for me using an ebay tial knock-off, which I may or may not regret. But its worth a shot, if not, I'll just swap over to a tial after words.

In case anyone wants this done... Not not cheap :(
I'd say $500 with a tial wastegate included. But it would transfer over to an ATP kit later... I do expect a lot from Dusty's setup with a wicked power band.

Angled back for increased clear for the manifold bolts.

Wastegate hole before being welded up

Stock wastegate disk before being welded in

This is where the wastegate arm comes out of the turbine housing, and it too has to be welded closed since none of this will be used anymore.

Got a nice thick piece of tube welded onto the wastegate outlet for the exhaust shop or who ever to start with ( so they don't start the mig weld on the V-band flange )

Remember that wastegate arm hole? Its disappeared :)

It end up not really needing this, but this is the stock wastegate hole/exit. Welded the stock disk into the hole after shaving it down.

This is the reason the wastegate exit hole didn't really need to have the disk welded in. Because we welded up the wastegate path in the turbine housing completely. Now there will be less turbulence as the exhaust enters the scroll area since its a straight shot without a left hand turn where the old wastegate path was.

I realize its hard to see, so here is another shot.

This mod is likely not cost effective... At this rate, I've made -$1 and put an extra 8 hours into this, lol.

It would be slightly faster next time, and next time I wouldn't spend as much, but... Man... A lot of labor. Pretty awesome at the same time though. I can't wait to see how it runs.

Nice work, SS! I look forward to getting all the pieces together, mounted, road tuned and proving your work. Cobb headquarters is right down the road from me but Patterson Performance is a pro-tuner of Cobb software, Don looks forward to tuning the cyborFiST (sorry, I named my car that, hope SS approves this message). I'll reach out to DHM to check the status on my intercooler and racebar...

I've made a good amount of 270whp (+\-) pulls and a few 280 + whp pulls with a much smaller intercooler, stock charge pipes and in 70-degree-ish weather. So I'd expect Dusty's car to do 280-300whp with the correct tune, correct fuel, and some good cool weather. The compressor wheel is maxed at 300whp give or take, so in that range is where it should be.
Keep in mind, I was on E40 fuel and had 100% meth injection too though. But all things being equal, this setup should eclipse my numbers reasonably easy. He's even going to be running the same air intake.

With real race gas, I think it would do 300whp in 60 degree low humidity weather. The bigger thing to me is.... Daily driving power ( not WOT power on a max power pull ) and lower rpm response should be very reasonable still as well. It may not do 325+ whp, but the over all drive should be improved.

Hey SS . I've been followings he thread and am very interested in going with your Cyborg set up. Was wondering if you could set up maybe a "menu" if u will. Just a listing of products and services you offer in regards to the cyborg set up. Possibly inform us (especially the newbs) what's needed in order to run the cyborg at a minimum and what's recommended for optimal results. Not sure if you have to do this as a vendor, but I think it would help a lot of us out. Thanks

The very first post breaks it down. But honestly, if your going with the upgraded turbo unit ( fresh bearings/seals, turbine clip, larger billet compressor wheel ), then the ported manifold/turbo, wastegate (internal EFR ), big inlet are pretty much all required. I'm actually currently doing just a set of turbine housing and exhaust manifold port work for a customer that will be running a stock turbo unit. As far as mods on the car BEFORE the cyborg? I'd highly recommend a catless 3" downpipe, but a catted is an option. A FMIC is REQUIRED ( I recommend the big DHM one, but my panda motorsports IC has served me well, as a cobb or airtec or small DHM ic would as well ). An air intake is highly recommended, but I ran the stocker for a long time, the 2J intake did make a big difference on my cyborg car. It may make less of a difference on a stock turbo car, but its worth the $180 for sure if you can handle the noise at all.

Tune wise? Well... We have lots of tuner options. I'm also more than happy to GIVE my tune away to anyone with a 2014, but of course they need to have bought access tuner for $150 in order for me to GIVE THEM THE TUNE FOR FREE. I believe the $150 is EXTREMELY worth it.

I really need to restructor my pricing. When it was made, I was sort of just adding it up as I went to show people what each thing cost, but really, I wouldn't recommend pairing the upgraded turbo unit without any of the other things that go with it. The porting with the stock turbo or the big inlet with the stock turbo or both with the stock turbo I'd be happy to do and if you could not afford to do them all, then you could START with those things, then add the wastegate and turbo later when you restock the mod fund(s).

Anyway, I'll PM you my phone number and you can text me if you have any specific questions, or post them hear, no such thing as a silly question.

One thing all the cyborg guys have in common? I feel like I'm friends with every single one of the guys.

I can't wait to see what the EWG Cyborg does... I think I forgot to mention it here, but my friend happened to rent an automatic 2015 Camaro 2SS. Well, we took the cars to "Mexico." Obviously, a RWD V8 will take a FWD 1.6T off the line just about any day. But on the Mexican highway, the Cyborg gave that SS something to be ashamed about...and I'm at ~230whp on 93 on a good day...AND it was about 90* out. So with that being said, it's easy to see that a Cyborg Fiesta can hold its own against (and surpass) many cars that you'll encounter in daily driving. The Cyborg makes the Fiesta looney... I hope the EWG will make it insane.

Personally, I'm shooting for ridiculous which is why I'm moving on to the GTX. The GTX will also give me room to go to absurd and maybe batshit crazy one day.

Dan not trying to sell you ( I don't have a core to build right this second anyway ), but if/when the time comes, you want to upgrade to the external, I can build a core for you and then exchange your ported manifold for a ported externally gated one.
Now... Don't get me wrong, I have very very high hopes for these externally gated manifolds, but they are expensive. Like I said, I took a loss in money on this first one, as well as not getting paid for 8 hours I personally had in the external gate. Add that to the cost of the tial MVS gate costing $260 ( the cheapest I could find it ) and its a $500 add on. With a $150 core, that's $650 JUST FOR THE WASTEGATE AND LABOR ( $500 in the end). Then $175 for the port work on top of that, now its $675. On one hand, I personally believe that a cast manifold is our best option for all around performance ( maybe not 100% peak racing performance ). On the other hand, that is $675 !! The entire system would cost $1950 + core with an external wastegate. Now don't get me wrong, it may prove its worth by far, and its also transferable to an ATP kit since its on the manifold. But even I'll admit, its pricey. But it is what it is.... If I could get the cost down anymore I would ( I already make ZERO profit on the inlets and the internal wastegates ).

I myself will being running an external asap too ( have to do customer work before mine ). I'm going to use a ebay tial knock-off. That helps with cost, but I wouldn't recommend it to a customer.

But Dan, if your wanting to convert, #1 I don't blame ya #2 being you already have a ported manifold, that could make it cheaper as well...

Dan I think I PM'ed you my phone number. Text if you want. Lmk if I didn't.

HiJinx, my fav was a brand new supercharged V6 audi S4 I ran. He got me by a car length to 120-125mph, but I super happy with that loss ( and I had a passenger ).

And not to start another foST vs fist conversation, but between my traction and power that doesn't fall off, I've really hurt some focus feelings, lol.

The FoSTs around this area don't bother me. And in return I don't bother them, or the big turbo FoSTs lol.
