Cat Exhaust Question

Hi all, new member here

I have recently purchased a used 2014 ST2 with 60k miles on the clock. The previous owner upgraded the exhaust system with a straight through custom exhaust and decat.

It was also remapped 2 years ago and Dyno results show it's output is now 220hp. While this would usually have got me a little excited, the exhaust pipes and bangs which isn't to my taste (I'm a little old for that kind of thing at 38 πŸ˜‚) also, the engine management light is on and I've been advised this is due to the decat, it failed it's MOT due to "Engine MIL inoperative or indicates a malfunction (8.2.1.2 (h))" and was then was put through by the garage.

I want this rectified, would anyone have any recommended options going forward? I think its going to need a new remap to rid the pops and bangs, but could I simply swap in an OEM cat to remove the warning?

Thanks for your help in advance

Scorpion exhaust with a resonator* Its the only exhaust I would use instead of My Thermal! Yeah you can put the OEM Cat in place and revert back to stock tune*

The stock cat flows just fine with the stock turbo. I would find a used one if I was you, slap it on and call it a day. Might not even need to change your tune, but there is I guess a small chance the turbo would spool oddly if it expects free flow. Would definitely quiet down the car for you.

Interestingly enough, the replacement stock system I got recently is quite a bit more burbly than my original from 2014. The last digit in rear muffler part number was incremented by one letter over the years so maybe they took out some baffles out to make it a bit more interesting.

I've picked up a used stock cat from eBay for Β£100 that looks in decent condition so I'll see how I get one. Gtting rid of the engine warning and the pops and bangs are my main priority, I have a feeling I'll need a new remap to stop the bangs as they definitely aren't for everyone, me included πŸ˜‚
