Buying aftermarket (oem rep) headlights for retrofitting

Just wondering if anyone has purchased oem rep headlights for any reason at all and where did you buy them? I seem to not have any luck finding them for it being such a new car. If your wondering why the oem headlights have that almost impossible seal that i rather not deal with and i would like to retrofit my headlights with some mini h1.

I purchased mine from eBay. Anything for a face lifted Fiesta will work. Base model, SE, or Titanium. I paid about $230 for the pair.

Did you do your own retrofit?

Yeah I did my own retrofit. Mini D2S primaries. Mini H1 high beam projectors

No issue with fitting other than making the bulb hole bigger to accommodate the projectors?

Shrouds were a problem to fit, but the projectors fit perfectly fine.

were they just slightly too big and hitting the headlight lens?

Yeah. The issue with getting shrouds that are deep enough to cover the projector body is that they're also wide. It took lots of trimming (and granted, my shroud trimming skills are still being developed), but its achievable. It just takes trial and error and patience.

well thanks for answering all my questions!! btw ur quad setup is sick. Im prob gonna do the same thing i did with my gti for the high beam and just sodder the bi-xenon wires to the hi beam connector wires(git had h15 high beam and theres no connectors for that), and gonna stick with the mini gatlin gun shroud.for the low beam i think it wont be an issue with fitting. and a simple black low beam housing

Not a problem at all. I think that'll be a great setup. Good luck. Can't wait to see the finished product.

One last bit of advice. My lights didn't fit in my oven, so I had to use the hot knife method of opening them. Aftermarket ones (mine are TYC) won't be permasealed, so you could take the heat gun approach to those.

Yeah I got a home made box with a heat gun attached to it to create a oven that's big enough for headlights. If your in a real pinch you can use the box the headlights come in and seal it up good then cut a whole for a heat gun. Works pretty efficient. Thanks for the info
