BRAKE CLEANER* Non- Chlorinated The single best Automotive cleaner there is for just about everything ...IMO! [driving]

As long as you washed it off with water immediately after, it should have no effects. It will remove any coating IE wax, ceramic etc that you may have. If it was spilled on any rubber, I would go over that with a rubber protectant otherwise it could end up drying the rubber out prematurely.

i've dealt with a lot of brake fluid clean up and never once had luck using brake cleaner... it's always been water that actually does something. might i be mistaken?

I've noticed that too... I was cleaning a small drain pan I was using when I bled my slave cylinder, and cleaning it with brake clean wasn't very cut and dry... I had to go over it 2 to 3 times whereas brake clean on motor oil residue was a much easier process
