Weird Stop [???:)]

I was accelerating quickly in 3d around a rh turn to 5800, then slowed in traffic and upshifted to 4th. All good so far for a half-mile. Then slowed and stopped for a lh turn onto an onramp. After waiting at idle for 10 seconds the car just shut off (all systems) and the horn beeped twice. I started up, worked fine, and accelerated onto the highway. After a quarter mile the wrench light came on (solid not flashing) and the car seemed to go into limp mode. The screen went into "sync update in progress" and then went black, and my AP3 lost all connection to the ecu. I took the next exit and was coasting as the car had no power. Pulled off to the side and shut it off. Waited a minute, hit the start button, and everything works fine.

The car never overheated, gauges (boost, afr, oil and coolant temps, charge temp, and ign correction cyl 1) were fine before and after and boost is normal (no leaks). No codes to clear. [clap]

The car is stage 3 - 19,000 m with no prior problems except as below.

The other day I held the esc button in and it malfunctioned until I turned off and restarted the car. I also had the dead sound issue which I fixed by disconnecting the battery for >10 seconds as advised by Ford. And it was beeping twice when I started up a couple of times, but that stopped after a day.

So it seems to be a weird electrical bug and I wonder if anyone else has had similar experiences.

Thanks for any help!

Sound goes out so: no music, no voice commands, and can answer phone with steering wheel, but can't hear or talk.

I suppose it could have been the "ecobeast" badges!

Thanks, good thought and I will. Tonight, on my way home the car tried to tell me that I had a bad nav sd card. I popped it out for the proverbial 10 seconds, put it back in and hit the road. I went through the commands and it worked and the fault cleared. We'll see what happens, although I'd really like to avoid a Ford dealer, that may be in the cards as the head unit seems a bit wonky. Or someone has hacked my system as here: http://www.nytimes.com/reuters/2015/07/21/technology/21reuters-autos-hacking.html?_r=0 YIKES!

If you have a battery with a bad plate that is making intermittent connection with its neighbor you could be shorting out your electrical system causing all manner of issues.
I know the batteries are new, but it's not beyond rational thought that yours was defectively made, or that autoX or other hooning has jarred a plate loose. Just a thought.

I guess I'll have to unplug either the espresso machine or the waffle-maker...

Just as a precaution, try replacing some of the fuses and double check the ground for the panel behind the glove box.

I had some weird electrical issues pop up on me that made my car act so twitchy I had to have it towed over what turned out to be a faulty fuse. Funny thing is I checked all the fuses, so I am wondering if maybe the fuse quality is garbage.
