Am I the only one who noticed pops on stock tune?

Stock tune. If you downshift rev match perfectly into 2nd gear at 40mph you will have the loudest pop ever. If you don't get it perfect it might make several quieter pops/burbles but still there. Do aftermarket tunes still have this? Looking at the dizzy e30 tune and was curious if I need to get the pop add on? I don't want pops all the time just at that range like the stock tune lol more natural.

My fully stock, including tune, engine (only a GFB-DV added) does fairly loud, but low frequency, more like a 'thud' sound from the interior, pops, especially when not fully warmed up yet, after every shift, even low rev ones.

It will also do this when I exceed the (factory settings) rev limiter when going 10/10th on acceleration as well.

But then I do have a 3" after downpipe CP-E Nexus exhaust system installed, so that could be the 'culprit'. [dunno]

Probably the exhaust cuz mine only does that if it's really cold out and only the first two gear changes. Rev limiter never does anything for me. But the 40mph downshift to 2nd always gives me either one LOUD pop or a few loud burbles. I'll try and get a recording next time. It did this with my full stock exhaust but now that I have the muffler deleted and dumped I can of course hear it even louder

How do the pops fair against the stock tune? I like that the pops on the stock tune feel natural. Would these pop/burbles tunes feel as good or more synthetic?

I have no "pop" tune and mine burbles and pops all the time (hybrid turbo/dizzy tuned) off throttle. Like M-Sport said, most often before the engine fully warms up.

Stock tune, stock exhaust, I don't ever recall having noticed a pop or burble. I have the SymPOSER plugged. But from high-RPM I almost never engine brake or use an unnecessarily low gear for longer periods. I coast and/or use the brakes for braking.

High performance engines that are either high compression or/and turbo have to be run a little richer in order to protect the engine from lean detonation. A richer mixture may also be used with cold engines. This explains why some have noted that it's easier to reproduce on a cold engine.

My prior motorcycle was naturally aspirated but high compression. It only popped on decel when it was badly out of tune.
