My old man has a Nissan Primera and is having endless problems recently
sometimes it drives perfectly and other times it just wont go above 2.5 revs!
even if hes got his foot right down, so going up bank is a pain.

he took it the garage and they have done so much work on it and the problem
still hasnt gone!.. its in the garage every week as they try different things out
hes spent a bomb trying to fix it (about all the cars worth)
the things hes had done so far are:

● Coils Packs
● Spark Plugs
● Fuel Pump
● Timing Chain
● Air flow something or other

hes also only recently had a new clutch, so its abit of a gutter.

any idea at all guys?? Thanks alot in advance

Any idea on what the problem can be guys? ....
I think it was be hard for us to offer any useful advice because A) Nissan Primera is not sold in the US B) We are not sure if that motor was used in any Nissan cars sold in the US.

If it drives perfectly sometimes its unlikely to be a mechanical problem because mechanical problems are usually consistent. I would be looking at the Engine Control Unit. I actually had a Nissan doing similar things many years ago. It was going into limp mode for no reason-sometimes. Pick up a second hand ECU and this fixed the problem.

clogged catalytic converter.... it's funny that you're asking about this car in a Ford forum, but even if this was a Nissan forum, you're not providing enough info, mate... how about the fault codes it's throwing?

I don't think any forum you're going to try will help if you don't provide the fault codes.. you're welcome anyway.
