Hello All.

I just purchased a Race Red ST today somewhat on a whim. I flew back home this afternoon from visiting my family over the weekend. As our plane approached the airport, I noticed a Ford dealer close by (Long Beach airport for those in SoCal). Anyway, I stopped by the Ford dealer on the way home (well, I had to stop to get my taxes done, first) and I noticed they had only one ST sitting on the lot. It was the Race Red ST. My first preference was Performance Blue, but when I saw the red in person, it looked MUCH better than the pictures, especially with the darker rims.

I thought I'd try to make a deal and see what the dealer was willing to do and was committed to leaving if we started on the same ol' back and forth as you normally experience when haggling on a price...

Truthfully, this was probably the EASIEST vehicle purchase I've experienced. I basically researched what others were paying for their ST, found the lowest prices most paid and set that as the marker. Sure enough, they just went with it. No need to haggle. All said and done, got the car for invoice, -$500 discount and 0% interest. Options wise, pretty much fully loaded: Moonroof, painted rims/calipers, nav, rec, protection package. I must say that Worthington Ford treated me very well. I will go back to them next year or so when the new F150 is released.

Anyway, I just got back from a 100 mile drive around town and, I must say, this is one of the MOST fun to drive cars out there today. I can feel the difference in power compared to my other cars but its off set by it's low weight. And to think I was going to buy a luxury SUV instead but I'm so glad I stopped by the ford dealer before going home. This is one purchase I'm very glad I made!

Now I just need to see how far I take the modifications... I think the first things I'm going to get is a differential (can notice the slight torque steer), short shifter, a more ergonomic shift knob, and coilovers. Oh, and the COBB AP of course. :)

Congrats on the purchase!
I'm with you on the diff, if it wasnt such an invasive install I would def hop on that. Especially with just an AP and an intake, traction is very much an issue haha

I set my price at $21,800 with Recaros only and now I'm waiting on the dealer. What price did you set for the dealer?

Thanks everyone!

Drove the ST all week and I will say its a fun car to drive.

The only things I need to change right away is the suspension. It lacks that 'planted' feeling I'm used to from my other cars. Wheels and Tires will help as well but I also want to improve the handling when going over bumpy roads as well. As is, the car feels unsettled on certain surfaces. The shift knob isn't very ergonomic and I am really going to swap this out asap. Short shifter is a must as well. Even then, I'm not sure if it will improve the 'feel' of each shift as I think some of the bushings are soft plastic which gives the shifter somewhat of a 'mushy' feel.

Access Port ordered. This should be fun to play with. :)

Check out truecar.com and use the lowest average price people in your area paid. I used that as a start.

Hey, welcome! It's nice to see another Fiesta ST - especially in a color besides Performance Blue - in SoCal. Come say hi to us over at ModBargains in La Habra sometime, or join my homie Kevin and I the next time we're shooting a Cobb Install video. Last weekend we shot the FMIC for FoST.

You can get a quaife LSD - from overseas - shift knobs are available and FYI Megan Racing is desperate for a Fiesta ST to use for testfit (FREE COILOVERS), same for Injen, they wanted my car for three days but I just couldn't part with the car for that long - over just an intake.

I'm already in bed with Cobb so to speak so that's probably where the majority of my mods're going to come from.

If you're considering wheels, ESM Wheels is local in the SFV and makes our lug pattern wheels.

Welcome to the board!

You must REALLY want to see my Red ST since you asked twice! lol

I'll post a pic later tonight or tomorrow morning.

edit: okay, you didn't ask twice but two people did so I'll post it up.

I'm at work every weekday 8-5 at ModBargains and tend to keep my car photoshoot clean lol. There are actually a few areas local to La Habra that make for great photos (trainyards etc) or for mountain/beach settings there is a spot off Rancho Palos Verdes - a switchback-laden sideroad directly above trump national golf course in Rancho Palos Verdes that makes for excellent photos. In the deep mountains the Strawberry Peak Fire Lookout Access road was a great photo location, and I like shooting on Glendora Mountain Road's "The Spot" where Glendora Ridge Rd, GMR and East Fork come together. You can see all my Fiesta instagram-whoring under the username "modbargainsnick"

Turnbull's local and short but fun, but it is extremely narrow so there are only a few spots that make for good photos.

I shoot Cobb installs every saturday we have parts to install with my buddy with a PB FoST, but we're always free afterwards. Shoot me a text sometime - anyone in SoCal looking to set up a meet or something let me know via text - cinco seis dos - four 8 1 - one 0 seven two

I also have [2x] GoPros with suction mounting for exterior shots (Hero I HD, Hero III)
