I bought myself a used ST two months ago, and recently I saw an oil leak under the car, which came from the gearbox. I understand this is a common issue, and to this I bought OEM axle seals and got the issue solved.
While doing so we saw that the CV join is beginning to fail. So I order wheel side CV joint. To my surprise they didn't fit! I ordered two kinds that were available and both didn't fit.
Measuring the diameter I see that the CV axle that is on the vehicle is much larger in diameter than what is sold on the internet. I can only assume the previous owner has put a aftermarket CV axle..?
Now I am left with changing the entire axle, left and right. What recommendation can I get on this? Is there a supplier for a performance axle I need to go for or should I stick to OE?
I plan to track the car.
