On my way to stoa

Oh yeah, my day is 6/15. I am so stoked I'm nearly in pain from anticipation. I'll probably be one of the oldest students to take the course but i"m rarin to go! I hit 64 last week but that's no problem because I've never grown up! This is a bucket list item for me. I'm new to the performance car thing so this is my way of getting my feet wet. On top of the age thing, I'm celebrating a 100+% recovery from a heart attack in 11/13.

Ok, enough with STewpid crap and on to some red meat for the FIST gang. Guest participant $250, liability insurance $125 plus tax =$381.

I made Email contact last week and received a reply yesterday to give Bill a call to set up my reservation which I did today. Have your VIN ready as well as your CC. The billing is done after the fact by another department but The VIN and point of sale are important. The second day running the Mustangs is a mere $1595! Spots are filling fast and apparently STOA is done in between Race events. Good Luck.

You will love it. I went last April, and it was great experience!! Anyone who buys a new FIST and does not take advantage of the Academy is really missing out.

Congrats :D

I went at age 59 and it was a blast. Very intense. Even the young folks looked wiped by the end of the day - but in a good way.

A very good perk is that you get a certificate of completion. It helps if you ever go to other schools or events because you've had that experience. You also get an engraved replica of an e-brake. (They retrofit racing type e-brakes in their cars; sorry if some of you already know this). You'll also get a t-shirt.

I wish I had driven there instead of flown and rented a car. The drive from Salt Lake to the reception was breath taking. I don't quite remember but you might encounter some 70 to 80 mph posted speed limits on curved scenic mountain roads. Dang, I wish I had driven!

At the first evening at Hoonigan, there were a couple things to see but not a lot. There was a welcoming reception, a video, and a well catered dinner. Everyone was polite so there was plenty to take back to the hotel room. Not everyone went.

On instruction day, the older more mature instructors were very methodical and patient. I asked to be accompanied once more on the AutoX and he said ok. One of the younger instructors was kinda of a "badboy," sort of cocky, and could have had more patience. Lucky I didn't have him all the time.

Definitely a bucket experience.
