I am at my wits end with this car.

I have had the car for 1 year and since owning it I have had consistent codes p0089 / p0087 / p2187.

It is hard to replicate but it is usually once the car is warm, if it is left to idle the car will stutter into a stall. Once it stalls the first time, it will usually keep stalling over and over again when starting up the car until the car has been left overnight and then its fine again.

Note, the car absolutely STINKS of fuel, both in the cabin and when stood over the engine bay.

No other issues with the car, when giving it the beans, the car is faultless, pulls right round to 7k rpm, super responsive and absolutely no issues...but when left to idle, the car starts to stink of fuel and will start to labor and stall.

My initial thoughts are the low fuel pressure sensor, but I don't want to start chucking parts at the car to find the issue still persists.

Im hoping someone on here has had similar issues and found the fix!

Many thanks in advance

Bumping this thread. I am having similar issues.

Have the P0087 code popping up. And pretty much the same stalling issues as you. It has been getting worse over the past few weeks.

I have tried troubleshooting so far by patching up a small hole in my exhaust where one of my hangers had sort of fallen/blown off, thinking this would increase exhaust pressure & solve the issues. I then took it for a drive, seemed fine, stopped to refill the tank, stalled at a light leaving the station & stalled 10 more times on the way home around the block. So THAT wasn't the issue, but it definitely wasn't helping either. Keep in mind, the car was fine with that small hole other than it sounding a tad bit more raspy.

I am now thinking of replacing the FLP sensor using this guide:
(1) FLP/ Fuel Low Pressure sensor DIY | Fiesta ST Forum
Part # is BU5Z-9F972-B
Just ordered - will update once this part is replaced. From my research, this tends to be the main issue.

Update***
Changed the FLP sensor as the guide instructed & the car is back to normal. Will be changing the top side sensor soon to be diligent. But that seems to have done the trick & the car is functioning normally again.
