My 2016 EU Fiesta ST180 decided to play a bad joke on me: the differential exploded, taking out the gearbox housing (thankfully, the gears are safe).
It's been more than a week now, and I still can't find a replacement. The mechanics at Ford won’t give me the part number, and I just want to check if there’s a compatible gearbox - maybe from another model.
From what I’ve found, the gearbox is an IB6 (Ford-specific) or B6 (generic) Getrag unit, with the specific part number likely being C1BZ-7002-A, C1BZ-7002-B, or C1BZ-7002-C - though I’m still a bit confused about the differences. However, these part numbers might only apply to the North American market.
I know Pumaspeed sells a kit with a gearbox and a Quaife LSD pre-installed, but given that I live in Italy, the cost would be excessive.
Does anyone have more information or know where I could buy a new or used gearbox?
