I’m a new member here and excited to join the Fiesta ST community! While researching reliable options for oil changes, I came across Grease Monkey, which seems to offer a wide range of services. I'm curious about their pricing—especially for synthetic oil changes—and whether it’s worth trying compared to other places like Jiffy Lube or Valvoline.

Personally, I just maintain my own vehicles. I change my oil very frequently with how often my vehicles see the track. Getting my oil changes done by others would only increase the cost of going and increase the chance of someone else messing it up carelessly.

Slightly different engine than you, I supply the oil and filter:

Oil change every 6K miles.

Motul ECOlite 5W20: $61.98
Mobil 1 Oil Filter: $10.99
Independent Shop Charge: $39.99 (in and out 40 mins tops)

Valvoline: $49.95 + $72.97 (You can wait in your car)
Jiffy Lube: $48.95 + $72.97 (Have to wait in the lobby)
Lube Center: $41.95 + $72.97 (You can wait in your car and watch an underside car monitor system)
Dealership Quick Lube: $63.99 + $72.97 (This can take several hours to complete)

All of the above big name lube shops have one thing in common.. they've all screwed me over. Things like, they hate that I bring in my own oil and at the correct measured amount, spilling oil all down the side of the engine and leaving it there without cleaning, They've taken a squeegee to the sides and back of my panel van thinking those were windows, They incorrect rotated my wheels and stripped lug studs... etc..

from my perspective, it's not entirely too expensive to change your own oil. decent full synthetic oil (Mobil 1 / Valvoline) is ~$5/qt, oil filer: FL-400s (or FL-910s, just a smaller filter) is ~$10, and a new crush washer is dirt cheap (or you could just get away with reusing the one you have). You could honestly get by with a jack, two jack stands, an oil drain pan, and a half-decent adjustable wrench. Cartridge filters, such as ours, should only be hand-tightened. I change my oil every 3k, and I have already had a good return on investment with these few tools I have (which I got a Craftsman mechanics tool set as a wedding gift last year).

But, for convenience sake, it's alright to spend money to have a shop do an oil change. I just have to change my oil every 3k due to being on e30 & having a motor at 163xxx miles, so it can get expensive very quickly if I had a shop do it.
I don't have a Grease Monkey in my area, but I have heard good things about the Valvoline Instant Oil Change places. I don't know about the cost, though. They just won't give ANY info on pricing on their website.
