I see what your saying, but im looking for more of a heat barrier then sound barrier. I want to seal the cowl around the intake pipe with a flexible rubber matt or sheet so it keeps heat out but does not transfer any moise or vibration. How flexible is raamat?
Probably the best thing to do is get a sheet of rubber or other flexible material that can withstand high heat...cut a hole in it slightly smaller in diameter than the intake pipe. Then remove the intake from you car and pull the material over the intake pipe with the intake pipe going through the hole you cut. Then reinstall the intake, insuring that the material is pushed down on the top of the lower cowl and cut the material to fit properly in the cowl area. This will give you a good seal in the area.

Well, it's used to go inside doors and floors, so I imagine it's flexible as it conforms easily. But, I won't know until it arrives.

What yall are saying is.... The bigger the air compressor hose is that I cut, the tighter the seal will be? Lol.

My mid-level spool is out of control with this. It didn't do anything for low rpm spool, but I got 27psi @ 4000rpm this morning. Last week, i was struggling to get 27psi period. Now... It is a good bit colder today, but 4,000rpm/27psi is way way off base from what I've seen this turbo do.

Also, I think it got skipped over, but someone said they were holding 17psi to redline instead of 14psi. 3psi gain on the top end is an epic difference for just a $150 air intake.

Have you officially tuned it?
I'm still working on it, but the low end spool just isn't gonna change. Nothing will change it. Not a stock turbine with no clip, not this intake, not 46 degree air temps, not timing, not fuel. Its just 19psi at 3,000rpm and that's it. But after that? Yea... Its a huge difference in boost per rpm.

With the weather shifting all over, its hard to nail it down. I thought today was gonna be hot, and it was 46degrees this morning ( I wore shorts and a short sleeve shirt !! ).

I'm also going to seal it up a bit better. Found a 3/4" rubber water hose ment for 200psi that looks like its will be my new seal.

I ran the car hard again and logged it. Im holding 15.5-16 psi at 6k when i shift 17 psi @5k and it does drop to 14 if i take it to revlimiter it used to drop to clozer to 13. So it isnt that big of a difference. But it feels a lot faster to me shifting at 6k i did take some logs though.

So ive been trying to find a way to seal up my intake tube to my cowl to get true cold "cowl air".So today i got to going through my old mustang parts and found an old lower shift boot. After some trimming and ca gluing i came up with this.

Please excuse the chipped paint on the intake. I have noticed a difference in iat temps since sealing the box back up, and i noticed the vemt blows cold like it used to. So, i call that mission accomplished. This is a shot of my iat and charge temp rolling at highway speed just after being in stop and go traffic for 15 minutes and being at cruise speed for about 5 minutes. Also as some have suggested, when I turn the vemt on now it drwars fresher air into the air filter and i can watch incoming air temps creep down(super cool bonus feature)This intake is amazing. Thank you joe.
